Not only do local Knoxville climbers crush, but they also have adopted a somewhat curious behavior of climbing on lead synchronized with each other. Here they are on lead at the Inner Circle climbing 5.12's and embracing each other after each clip. I'm hoping this catches on and makes its way into the Olympics. #truegrace #theobed #sportclimbing

Hi! I’m Grace -bookseller at University Book Store, artist, and host of our new nonfiction book club, True Grace. We meet at our U. District branch at 6pm on every 2nd Wednesday of the month and there is no registration required - so if you see that we're reading a book you're interested in, please stop by! I’ll be posting my illustrated nonfiction book reviews here on Tumblr every week so I hope you’ll look out for them!

We just had our first book club meeting last week, for which I thoroughly enjoyed reading TRIBE, the new book by Sebastian Junger. Found in our Sociology section, TRIBE explores what tribal societies can teach us about Belonging, and the on-going human search for meaning. It seeks to explain why, for many veterans, as well as civilians, war can feel better than peace; why disasters can bring people closer than happy events.

TRIBE is an insightful and well-researched book, with an easy conversational tone. Junger's arguments are fair, always compassionate, and rich in facts - so even if you do not always agree with everything, reading this is definitely a positive experience. He raises many difficult questions, while allowing the reader to come to their own conclusions. So,if you're looking for a new book that will provide fodder for the thoughtful discussion of many of our current sociological issues, this is the perfect title!
