Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips. 1/2 cup unsalted butter. 3/4 cup granulated sugar. 3 large eggs. 1/4 cup blood orange juice. 1 tsp blood orange zest. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 tsp salt. 1/4 cup heavy cream. 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped. 1/4 cup blood orange marmalade. Fresh blood orange slices and zest for garnish.
Instructions: Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F. Line the bottom of a 9-inch round springform pan with parchment paper and grease it. Melt the butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second increments in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth. Let cool a little. Whisk the sugar, eggs, blood orange juice, and blood orange zest in a different bowl. Stir well after adding the melted chocolate mixture gradually to the egg mixture. Fold the salt and all-purpose flour into the chocolate mixture just until no streaks are visible. Smooth the top of the batter after pouring it into the prepared pan. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs after baking for 25 to 30 minutes. Take the torte out of the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for ten minutes before removing the springform pan's sides. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until it starts to simmer. After turning off the heat, stir in the chopped dark chocolate. Once smooth, stir and allow to cool slightly. Drizzle the marmalade made from blood oranges over the chilled torte. Drizzle the ganache with chocolate over the marmalade layer, letting it run down the sides. Before serving, the torte should be chilled in the fridge for at least two hours.
