Facebook has recently hired the two co-founders of Legit, a startup that has been developing an online trust reputation framework for the sharing economy. This interest confirms it is going to be an important aspect of our human interactions in the near future. Facebook and its amount of data about its users, their life and habits could have a huge advantage on the online reputation system.
But as the author points out:
do we want one company controlling our online identity and becoming the sole gatekeeper of our online reputation? Aren’t there alternatives?
