After Stonewall, these 2 brave women became influential activists of LGBTQ+ rights. Together they created STAR (Street Transvestite Activist Revolutionaries) in order to give trans youth a place to feel safe. During the time, White gay men and lesbians dominated the space when it came to equal rights, leaving queer and trans people of color without a place to stand. Because of this, it became their goal to help oppressed marginalized communities.
