am i starting the wheel of time series because it's one of the greatest and most beloved fantasy works? yes. am i also starting the series because people casually namedrop the characters as though they're mutual friends and i'm jealous that i'm not yet acquainted with those friends? 100% yes.

logically i know i should put aside death note and read something else, but emotionally i don't wanna.

it's fine. it's gonna be fine, there's the anime, and the musical, and i can even watch the tv drama in a time of need! it's not death note, but there's still a connection to it in that it isn't death note! it's fine. we're fine. it's fine.

okay but once i'm done with the death note manga, i'll want to reread it again because i miss L, but then i'll be missing near so i'll want to read through to the end, but then i'll be missing L again and I'll want to-

is there a more complex, multifaceted and nuanced antagonist out there than kennit from the liveship traders trilogy, i don't think so, i don't think so.

every single time i see gabi in the vivo trailer, i go "maritza vibes, maritza vibes!" can i testify to that? no. i haven't watched the movie and it's been a hot minute since i've read of maritza, but STILL.

and i'm taking that opportunity to say, if you're craving something heart-warming on the younger side of YA, do pick up aiden thomas' cemetery boys.
