Stefano was about to reach for the last small cake that was there, almost forgetting to on his way home... Forgetting his own birthday was embarrassing really-- When he feels a presence behind him, he turns around a shy smile on his lips,
“Oh, did you want this--? You can have it if you’d like.”
The happy birthday cake remained where it was.
For now.

An outcast from society, left to roam the swamps and prey upon whatever lesser animals set foot in said swamp, the alligator monster was no mere wives’ tale. He was very real. Vengeful, angry, and full of hate? No. He accepted his habitat, lurking in the murky waters and hiding in the duckweed, eating everything from fish to unsuspecting turtles. Whenever people set foot in the swamp, he stayed away from them. They died from other, normal alligators or other hazards, like snakes.
However, when a human boy entered the swamp, his interest had been peaked.
Can ya talk?
“Hrrrr....” A low growl was accompanied by a hiss. Not a scared or aggressive one, but mostly curiosity. “Yes....ssss....”
Speaking was natural to him, but perhaps not natural enough for the superstitious families.

Taking a bath, brushing someone’s hair, petting her cat... Small soothing, repetitive actions. Complaining to someone about what’s upset her tends to help, too. She’s very used to holding her feelings in but if she knows you well enough to tell you about her problems, it helps her a lot to actually say what’s bothering her out loud.
