It was a typical Sunday afternoon at Hogwarts. In the Slytherin common room, Dolores Umbridge sat studying.

Not for the first time, a pet rat scampered across her parchment, leaving splotches of ink all over her hard work....again. Dolores grabbed the offending creature by the tail and marched up to its owner, fuming.

She tossed the rat at the girl, who looked momentarily bewildered

Mary: Right...thanks

Dolores pursed her lips in annoyance.

Dolores: you know, that’s the third time this week your little pest as ruined my homework.

Mary: sorry, I’ll make sure it doesn’t happen again. *she does not sound sorry at all*

Dolores: I’d be careful where you let your pets roam. It’d be such a shame...

Mary: *irritated* are you threatening me?

Dolores: of course not! I’m only looking out for you and your...charming...little pet.

Dolores returns to her homework, only to have the rat come across her yet again. At that moment, she decided to take things into her own hands and MAKE Mary listen. The next morning, Dolores sees Mary come into the common room, visibly upset.

Dolores: *feigning interest* why Mary, whatever is the matter?

Mary: *scoffs* as if you don’t already know. Alfie- my rat-he’s dead.

Mary: *anger rising* accident my ass! I know it was you, Dolores!

Dolores: *feigning innocence and offense* why, I would never do such a thing! That’s just awful! *her face hardens and her eyes grow cold*

*dolores giggles girlishly, feeling quite pleased with herself*
