The China Syndrome (1979). A reporter finds what appears to be a cover-up of safety hazards at a nuclear power plant.
In a lot of ways, this feels ahead of its time. A tightly told journalism thriller about a nuclear power conspiracy? Yes please! It's bolstered too by incredible performances from Jane Fonda, Jack Lemmon and Michael Douglas, who all really make the movie their own too. It's not exactly full of surprises, but it's a good story, well told, with some interesting cinematography and a clipped pace. 8/10.
