FreeTime Synthesizer Tracks
Like the DJ booth & the elevators, the BOB 3942 by SoundEscapes synthesizer from FreeTime plays music, but they're considered sound effects attached to the object.
I extracted the .xa files of the object from FreeTime's Sfx2.package with SimPE, relabeled them .xa files because SimPE incorrectly marks them as MP3s, then converted them to WAVs with XAbatch.
This isn't every single possible synthesizer song, there's a whole bunch that I didn't find yet because none of the extracted sound effects have descriptive names, so I have to listen to each individual file to figure out what they are - And there are 500 files lol.
I'm also guessing at what some of these songs' genres are, because again nothing is labeled in the game files. Plus that's not even considering how the synthesizer songs are modifiable in-game, like you can tell your sim to change the rhythm/melody/bass which I believe are an entirely different group of songs than these "finished" sounding ones (? idk lol)
One of the tracks that sims can play on The BOB 3942 by SoundEscapes synthesizer, with a synthesized voice singing the lyrics "Grau es frettesche, nooboo"
Open for Business Elevator Muzak
I was curious about the muzak that plays in OFB elevators, so I extracted the "MP3s" (actually mislabeled XA files) from Sfx1.package in the OFB program files. Then I changed the format of the extracted files from .MP3 to .XA so they would actually play.
None of the files are labeled descriptively, they're just random letters/numbers, so I listened to the 200-odd unlabeled files to find the elevator songs - Although a lot of the files didn't make any noise lol
After that, I converted the .XA files to .WAV with this program from ModTheSims.
There were 9 files of elevator muzak with 3 files each being different sections of a distinctive song, kind of like how the DJ booth puts together random snippets to make a mix. I spliced them together in Audacity.
This one is the most generic imo, it's just standard vibraphone muzak
This is what made me want to find the audio files, it's BoSIM Nova from TS1 but somehow with an even more easy listening muzak style
This one has a similar melody/rhythm to Martinis for Two from TS1 but with a samba whistle playing over & over - I always notice it the most when playing because I just hear the whistle and it drowns out everything else lol
Vocals performed by Skinny Puppy lead singer Nivek Ogre
Ken Marshall, one half of The Humble Brothers, made a video sharing the history and doing a breakdown of this song
