Pets can be resurrected but not as zombie.
Womrats can be removed from their cages and be played with.
Womrats can’t give your sims a disease like in the original sims and can die from starvation or being scared by a dog.
Womrats and Parrots are pets that live in cages and can be taken out briefly for your Sims to play with. They require less attention than Cats, Dogs and are not counted as household members.
In order to have Sims keep them, you must buy the appropriate cage in Buy mode, then use the cage’s “Restock” option to purchase the pet. This can only be done if the cage is empty and clean.
When stocking a cage you will have a choice of several fur or feather colors, and will be able to name the pet.
Small pets that are hungry may bite, and ones that are starving will have “hungry” thought bubble above their heads.
Sims can play with and watch these small pets, and can carry along the parrot. Also, parrots can be taught to talk. Once they’ve learned to talk, Sims can talk to them to build Charisma skill. Sims will also build Nature enthusiasm whenever they clean the cage or talk to a bird.
One instresting thing is that you can edit small pet’s mesh and you can have more pets than Womrats and Parrots. As an example: Spider, Iguana, Rat, Chinchilla, Hedgehog, Chipmunk, Lizard, Chameleon, Squirrel, Owl, Dragon.
How to Breed Pets
There are a few prerequisites for breeding pets in The Sims 2:
You have to have a pet house
You must have a good relationship with the pet
The pets must have a good relationship with each other (more than 25 points daily)
The Sim’s pet may give birth to up to four puppies or kittens. The maximum size of a litter is dependent on how many Sims and animals are already in the house.
After they are bred, kittens and puppies can be sold or given to other Sim families. What determines the simoleons earned through selling the litter is how well the pet has been trained.
If you want your pets to have a better relationship, lock them in a room with two food bowls and two beds, and two litterboxes. Don’t put any toys in the room, so when the pets get bored they will be forced to play with each other.
You may breed a large dog and a small dog, but the puppies will have only their mother’s genetics, and will be the same size as their mother.
Another way to increase the relationship between two pets is to individually praise them whenever they are playful or playful towards others. Eventually when the pet learns to be playful, reached when the skill bubble pops, a Sim can command them to “play with” and select any pet on the lot. Having the pets play with one another increases the relationship.
One new Feature on The Sims 2 Pets Expansion Pack is Werewolves.
Sims can become Werewolves when bitten by the leader of the pack, a large wolf distinguishable by its dark coat, heavy build, and characteristic glowing yellow eyes. The leader only appears at night.
To become a werewolf, players must build up a relationship with any wolf with glowing eyes (the werewolf pack leader). The pack leader will eventually “nibble” the Sim it was interacting with, causing it to become a werewolf.
