So here's the thing... some TS4 CC creators think that the answer to addressing their CC being pirated is to make a big, dramatic statement and/or rage about how it's their livelihood, yada yada yada.

No. Some people will never pay for a dime of CC in their life for reasons that are none of anyone else's business. And they will pirate CC if it's out there. And it will be. You can't control that. EA owns the content at the end of the day. It's in their TOS.

However, I believe that those of us who do pay for CC do so because we respect the creator as an individual while also having the means to pay for GBs of pixels that are literally worth nothing outside of the game (...or you have credit card debt, cuz same)

Most of the people who I support on Patreon are extremely professional, consistently put out quality content, take feedback well, and provide exceptional customer service. With that being said, like any service, how you conduct yourself matters.

One creator in particular continues to have such a bad attitude and is downright mean to their Patrons and I don't understand them. Their mods are amazing, but they are such an asshole! Don't be like them !!! Remember that if you want to be treated like a legitimate business, you need to conduct yourself in a way that takes your customers needs/preferences/feelings into consideration.

And remember that some people can be cartoonishly petty and will share your CC because you're an asshole. So just... don't be one.

TL;DR: If you want people to buy your CC, be nice and professional and don't be an asshole.

EA's CC/Mod Changes <3

Here is the link, if you think I made it up.

Mods cannot be sold, license, or rented for a fee, nor can Mods contain features that would support monetary transactions of any type.

It's written, clear as day. "MONETARY TRANSACTIONS OF ANY TYPE."

It's simple, it makes perfect sense. All these excuses I've seen creators making doesn't add up. I can use the same software you're paying for, FREE. There are tons of websites that allow full working websites for FREE, such as blogger or wix.

NO EXCUSES! - I am a creator myself and it makes perfect sense.

To the "Creators" using/abusing the system as well as their "supporters", EA's heard all the cries. EA has finally stepped in and allowed this community to finally stand. All these creators have to live & work like the rest of us. It was disgusting how some of these creators took advantage of everyone and yet their supporters didn't bat an eye while they continued to support these ones who don't deserve it.

I desperately need someone to make this for the sims 4 and for males...we need more long male hair, hairstyles. Preferably alpha cc..just cause that’s the style I tend to go with more.

What is some advice you can give to a new CC creator? I really love all of your work and you're one of my favorite creators I've found so far. Is there anything you wish you knew starting off that would have been really helpful?

Hi! Thank you so much for your sweet words 💚

There are lots of technical things I’ve learned along the way, but I’m still really quite green compared to a lot of others in that regard. Still, the studio.exportall and studio.importall cheats for Sims 4 Studio would have saved me *a lot* of time when I made my first eleventy billion wall sets. Spending time reading through the S4S tutorials and regularly reading the creator help section even when you don’t need help can teach you the odd thing here and there. And when you do need help, don’t be afraid to ask.

The main piece of advice I have, though, is to focus on making what you want to make, and not to worry about what you think others want you to make. Make things as often or as infrequently as you want, don’t stick to a schedule because you think it’s the right thing to do, or to increase visibility, or to chase numbers, or anything like that - you’ll burn out and it’ll stop being fun. If you want to post 1 thing a month then do that. If you want to post 3 things in a day, go right ahead.

This is especially true if you ever start a Patreon or anything like that. Even if you don’t do early access (which I don’t - I don’t want anyone to feel pressured into supporting me because they have no choice, if they like my stuff they will support me and that’s all that matters), the pressure is always there to think constantly about whether you’re driving people over there and keeping visibility. Try to remember why you started making cc to begin with: presumably because there were things you wanted in your own game that you couldn’t find, and because you wanted to be able to share that with others.

It’s fun to make things and see them come to life in your own game. It’s fun to see them come to life in other people’s games. And it’s incredibly rewarding to hear people say they enjoy what you make. Try to hold onto that joy and let that be the metric that guides you, rather than worrying about numbers or popularity or any of that other stuff. It’ll help you stay motivated, and stop you feeling like it’s a chore.

Ultimately, if people find your content fun or useful they’ll support you, and they’ll be happier to do so if they know you’re happy doing what you do. You can’t force that, and staying true to yourself (as cliché as that sounds) is the best thing you can do.

Good luck with your cc journey! You’ll probably get frustrated at times when things go wrong but that’s fine! Persevere and just keep doing what’s fun!
