After being announced as husband and wife and after taking some more portraits during their cocktail hour, Nathan and Mikayla couldn't wait to sit down. It had been a long afternoon and now it was finally time to celebrate. They listened to the toasts, shared their first dance together and now they were awaiting dinner. As they waited, Mikayla immediately made eye contact with the last person she was expecting to see - Alexia.

Mikayla felt like there was a knot in her throat as she tried to keep up appearances and not freak out, although internally she was. Instead she whispered to Nathan, who saw Alexia shortly after she did, walking through the entrance to the reception area wearing white.

Not only did Alexia crash their wedding, but she showed up wearing the one color they advise you NOT to wear to someone else's wedding? It was very clear what Alexia was trying to do and rather than upset Mikayla or stress her out since she was carrying their child, Nathan volunteered to handle it and encouraged Mikayla to enjoy the reception.

Today was officially the day they had been planning for. Today would be the day that Nathan and Mikayla would be officially announced as husband and wife, a day they both were looking forward to for a long time.

As Mikayla walked down the aisle, making eye contact with her soon-to-be husband, everything from the last several months and the last few years came coming back. She thought about how they first met and that awkward moment where she accidentally matched with him on the dating app. She thought about their first kiss and the butterflies she felt, despite the fact that she was seeing someone else at the time. She thought about the first time she knew she loved him. The first time they officially started dating and all of the bliss that followed.

She even thought briefly about the adversaries to their relationship, Eli and particularly Alexia. She felt like they had triumphed over her. Alexia tried and tried and was so certain she'd be able to convince Nathan not to marry her and to return to his former relationship with Alexia, but Alexia was wrong. Her charm wasn't so irresistible after all.

MIKAYLA'S HOUSE

The meeting with Eli went smoothly. It was short, which Mikayla preferred considering she only agreed because she felt bad not offering him anything for the birthday gifts he brought her. She brought their coffees, despite Eli's insistence that he pay, calling it a thank you for what he did for her. They talked for a little and then went on about their day. At the end of it, he walked her back to his office where she initially met him and where her car was, but the entire time she felt queasy and uncomfortable.

She initially chalked it up to nerves or anxiety since she wasn't initially expecting to get coffee with him, but later when she threw up in a public gas station bathroom - something she never does but couldn't hold it - she began to get worried that she caught something.

During her phone call with Rachel, Rachel encouraged her to take a pregnancy test just to rule things out. "It's either that or some sort of a stomach bug." She said jokingly.

So Mikayla went to the convenience store on her way home and picked one up. Much to her surprise, the test read the words "PREGNANT" in bold letters.

BRINDLETON PUB Mikayla & Nathan's Rehearsal Dinner; 4:30 PM

As Mikayla stood in the pub, after they spent the earlier part of the afternoon rehearsing for the wedding, she struggled to stand upright and keep from running to the nearest toilet. From her estimation from her last period, she was about 8 weeks pregnant, making her almost exactly 2 months pregnant. She couldn't figure out how it happened - outside of the obvious of course. When did this occur and how did she not notice?

It was early enough that she wasn't showing - just a little bloated, but she couldn't bring herself to tell Nathan. She knew she had to tell him, but when? She could've told him as soon as she found out, but she was trying to wrap her head around everything that happened herself. One day, she's meeting with Eli and just a few hours later she's hit with the meanest burst of nausea that she hasn't experienced since her pregnancy with Emory. She just couldn't believe it.
