Players Notice Reused Models in The Latest Sims 4 Marketplace Set

The Sims 4 Marketplace and the subsequent Sims 4 Marketplace Sets have been submerged in controversy since they were leaked as part of a rum

I have just been linked to this article (thank you!) and i wanted to share the responses we got from one of the Sims community managers for full transparency too!

From the sounds of it, as long as no third party content is infringed upon, the creators are able to do this happily. Where i begin to get lost is knowing where the limits are, if there are any. Makers are provided access to base game stencils, to copy tuning and heights etc (so a couch isnt the same seat height as a table, lets say) but it seems like as long as creators items are funnelled into the tools at the end for upload - anything goes. Even if that means taking from PAID content which they do not own the rights to, to then go on and frankenmesh them to shit just to sell it again. I also want to say, I have no issue with frankenmeshing generally! I do it myself! It is a great way to both learn the ropes of custom content creation AS WELL AS create fun new ways to utilise old items for a game. THE ISSUE LIES within taking pre-existing assets in PAID packs to then mush em together to SELL them back at a premium. If this was a free kit? I'm sure NO ONE would have issues. But as it stands, this cost around 4USD (5USD if you're including the fact you need to purchase the full amount) and contains less value per cost than the price of a normal kit.

i also saw this on their patreon yday and really thought it was the same earring as the one in the kit. This is their Aoife Earrings set from The 'Buttercup' Collection. Granted, its hard to tell based on the preview but...

once again, i am asking @oakiyo @thesimsofficial for an answer on whether frankenmeshing and reuploading of old content is allowed freely in the marketplace or not. Your official guidelines for applying to the maker space seem to say no, but these uploads say otherwise.

The 'Cat's Cradle' Crown Pillow Conversion CC

As the result of another request of a dear friend, my wife has kindly created a version of the 'crown on pillow' object with the cat crown from Royalty & Legacy.

The old version (right) is actually rather low resolution, so we also scaled the textures up a little bit for it to look slightly nicer ingame.

The crown has all of the swatches as the regular cat crown, and is a decorative object!

Hello!!! A friend of mine was devastated to see that this crown was only made accessible for cats, so i stepped in to save the day (/j lol)

Here is The 'Cat's Cradle' Crown!

It retains all of the swatches of the cat version, and works without owning cat's and dogs.

Unlike the other crowns in the pack, i decided to make this one into a hat instead of a headdress. This means that hairs wont clip into it. Therefore this will be found in the hat category!

Works for both male and female adults, but if any other ages / ideas come to mind, please let me know :D
