I think we all need to keep remembering, or realizing, is that this isn’t a confessional album, it’s a storytelling, fantasy & writing from memories album. These are a mix of what she has been through, what she has seen others go through, what she imagines a situation would be like.

The point of “real” folklore is you never know how much is truth and how much is exaggeration and imagination. Folklore stories are passed down so often through so many hands and mouths and time that you just don’t know which, if any, is real. I believe that is the point of this album, with these songs and this title. The album truly is folklore
