âWeâve got to be close to Unicorn Run.â Logan calls out from the front of the wagon. The wagon is moving forwards slowly at first, but almost immediately Logan flicks the reins and urges their horses faster. âWe traveled all yesterday, I thought we would be closer to-â
âYou mean you donât hear it?âÂ
Logan turns around. Thomas is sitting there with his brow furrowed and his mouth slightly open. He absently adjusts his cloak around himself.
âHear what?â
Thomas tilts his head to the side, his expression only growing deeper as he stops adjusting himself. Heâs oblivious to the other two perplexed gazes trained on him.
âThe sound of running water? Over in that direction- Uh Northwest-ish?â
Thomas gestures to the front righthand corner of the wagon, to where the supposed sound is coming from.
âI havenât heard-â Logan begins, but is interrupted by a hush from Patton.
âShh, letâs listen.â Patton cups his hand to his ear and turns the ear in the direction Thomas pointed and stills, straining to listen.
Logan blinks in surprise at Patton suddenly interrupting him, but gathers himself quickly and does the same. With the ability to see beyond the wagon, Logan also scans the forest in the direction Thomas had pointed out as well.Â
Dee appeared vaguely interested, but was listening all the same.
When they all fell silent, it took a moments for each of them, but you slowly hear the distant sound of running water fade up into the overall ambiance of the forest.
Logan sits back slightly as he gets tiny glimpses of a glistening line of water snaking itâs way beside the road. As they traveled down the road, the river wavered in and out of sight as it never traveled in a truly straight line.
âOh... weâre closer than even I thought. Weâre nearly there already.â
Dee finally spoke up, his eyes actually widened in slight surprise.
âAlready? Wow. I didnât think we were that close.â
Logan moved his head so that he looked back at Dee with one eye, they share a quick glance that turns Deeâs cheeks the slight bit gray.Â
âWell, the river means weâre just that much closer to where weâre going! And thatâs good.â
Dee coughed as he began to carefully make his way up to Logan at the front.
âYeah, itâs good.â
A smile begins to grow on Thomas face and he lets out a big breath of air.
âIâm just glad you heard it too! When you looked at me like that I thought I was going crazy or something!â
Patton lightly grasps Thomasâs arm, his brows drawing together.
âYouâre not crazy! You can tell us anything you notice that we donât. We wonât call you crazy, I promise.â
âI donât promise that.â Dee called up from the front and Thomas didnât even have to be in view of Deeâs smirk to hear his smirk.
âHardy har. Neither will I for you Mr. Grumpy Pants.â Thomas snarks back.
âOh how inventive, truly inspired a nickname.â Dee drawls, still refusing to turn around.
âNo one here is going to call themselves or anyone crazy here and thatâs final.â Patton cries, pulling at Thomasâs hand even as Thomas stared at Deeâs back.
âOkay Dad.â Thomas slapped his hand over his mouth, glancing at Patton hurriedly. âIs it okay to call you that? I- You just seem so much like one right now-â
Patton instantly softens and brightens, his hand shifting to hold Thomasâs one hand gently in both of his. His eyes are sparkling even in the slightly dimmer light in the wagon.
âOf course! You can call me whatever you want!â
Before Thomas can respond again, Logan and Deeâs voices carry back from the front of the wagon.
âOh wow...â
âThere it is...â
Both Thomas and Patton turn to see the distinct shape of a bridge over a rushing river. The bridge looked empty, the road ahead of them clear as far as the eye could see.
They were finally at Unicorn Run.

Will one of them actually occur or will fate take an abrupt turn into some other outcome?Â

Main Characters: Patton Arri, Prince Ronan of Selene
Other Characters: -
Warnings: mild panic attack, foreplay
Story Summary: Based on the TS D&D AU on Tik tok (#TSDNDAU). Minor spoilers for upcoming videos
Patton Arri has just announced that heâs a prince, and he and Roman are engaged, all to keep Roman safe from his family.
Unfortunately for the young cleric, all of that happened after meeting Romanâs sweet older brother Ronan and now the two canât be together.
But one night...wouldnât be the end of the world, right?
...In the light of day things can change from slim to none...
... I don't wanna be this
Nobody needs to see this
I try to resist
But the light's getting low to a glow 'till you're touching my lipsâŚ
...Wanna go but I wouldn't
I wanna stay when I shouldn't
I wanna say no when I couldn'tâŚ
...So meet me in the dark
Kiss me in the shadows of every spark
I know we shouldn't startâŚ
...Meant to be
Or maybe just a dangerous fantasy...
At the soonest possible chance, Patton left the ball, and the rest of his party, behind in favor of the quiet of the room he had been given while they were in Seleneâs castle.
It was only once he was safely in the darkness of his room that the half-elf allowed himself to break down. He sunk to the floor, silent sobs wracking his body as he hugged himself. He knew that he had done the right thing; helping Roman get free from what his family had tried to plan for him, but it had been at the cost of not only Pattonâs happiness, and freedom, but Romanâs older brother, Ronanâs happiness too. The heartbreak in the other princeâs eyes that night had killed Patton.
There was a knock at his door but he ignored it, hands going to his mouth to stifle his sobs just incase whoever was on the other side was one of the more perceptive members of his party. âPat?â Roman called out, voice worried and stressed. âPat, are you in there?â He shook his head fiercely. He couldnât face the young human right now. He heard him sigh and heard his footfalls as he walked away.
As his tears dried up, the cold silver of his circlet seemed to feeze against his burning skin. He ripped the fragile headpiece off and threw it across the room, hearing it clatter across the floor and hit the wall. He wanted nothing to do with that part of his life. Not right now. The only reason he had admitted anything was to help Roman; otherwise, that part of his life would have stayed hidden away for a long time. Forever if he had any say in the matter.
He didnât know how long he just knelt on the floor, no longer crying but too drained to move. He heard but didnât acknowledge when others tried to check on him. Emile, Virgil...He felt bed ignoring them both but he just couldnât face them right now. He couldnât deal with the questions or...pity. Luckily, in Pattonâs eyes, neither DC or Lâogan tried to visit him. He had seen the change in Lâogan when the full elf had learned that Patton was a prince, and hated it.
And DC would just call him an idiot for doing this. Patton didnât need that right now.
It was only when a very soft knock came from his door followed by an almost impossible to hear, âPatton?â that the young man stood and moved to the door. He paused with his hand on the doorknob. âPatton, I know youâre in there. Please?â the voice on the other side cracked a little and that broke Patton from his frozen position. He turned the handle and slowly opened the door to look at the young prince.
Ronan shared features with his younger brother, but not enough where they looked too alike. Ronanâs jaw was sharper, his nose a little longer. Romanâs eyes were darker then the ones Patton found himself currently staring into.
And Roman, as much as Patton cared for him, could never make his heart skip several beats and his breath catch in his chest just by smiling at him, fingers brushing over his own.
âRonanâŚâ He whispered, âYou shouldnât be here.â despite his words, his fingers laced with the humanâs pulling him a step closer.
âRoman was worried about youâŚAs was I.â
Patton glanced out into the empty hallway before pulling Ronan in and shutting the door behind him. âIâm fine.â he lied, not meeting Ronanâs gaze.
He heard the other man sigh softly and then felt fingers on his chin, lifting his face up to look at him. He leaned into the warm touch, closing the distance between them with a step forward. âYou donât have to lie, Patton. Itâs just you and me.â His other hand went to the small of his back and pulled him the rest of the distance, so he could hold him against himself.
Patton just clung to Ronan and the two stood like that for several minutes, neither speaking. Slowly he tilted his head up and dragged Ronanâs head down until their lips met, kissing him as if his life depended on it. The two kissed in the middle of the dark room, only the moon coming in from the window providing any light.
Patton pulled away, breathing heavy and eyes dark. The younger man looked down at him, not letting him pull too far away. âI donât want to leave you like this,â Ronan said softly, pushing the blue-brown hair from Pattonâs face
âThen donât.â
Patton took his hands and walked backward to the bed, sitting down and pulling Ronan on top of him, kissing him again. His hands tangled in his hair, keeping their lips pressed together. Slowly he coaxed his tongue between the princeâs lips, deepening the kiss. He tugged a little on Ronanâs hair, shivering at the moan that pulled from the man.
He knew he shouldnât be doing this. He knew it was wrong.
He knew, he knew, he knew.
He hated knowing.
He wanted to not know. He wanted to just be in this moment. With a handsome man on top of him, pressing into him in such a delicious way. What was wrong with that?
Nothing.
He growled a little and flipped them over on the bed so that he could pin Ronan under him, hips rolling slightly as his hands moved to hold the otherâs above his head. He moved his lips from the otherâs mouth, kissing down his jaw, then down his neck, using his chin to push the collar of his jacket away so he could start to mark the skin at his collarbone. The soft gasps and moans were music to the clericâs ears.
When he was sure there was a mark for Ronan to remember him by for a few days, he pulled away, looking down at the man under him. His skin was flushed, the pupils of his eyes blown wide, lips swollen, hair messily splayed on the bedâŚ
Goddess, Patton had missed making someone look like that.
He felt the knot that had been in his stomach uncoil a little as he leaned down to kiss him again. âYou look so good.â He murmured, one hand moving to trail along Ronanâs chest, slowly undoing the buttons of his jacket as he went.
How much was going to be too much for Ronan? It was clear to Patton that he had never been with a guy before, but he was less sure about if he had been with anyone before. And while Pattonâs first time had been a one night stand, and he didnât find anything wrong with them, he also believed that a first time for someone like Ronan should be...better than this.
He gentled his kiss, hand just resting over the humanâs heart instead of exploring the otherâs body more. He slowly pulled back, moving to lay next to Ronan instead of on top of him. Ronan made a noise of protest and tried to pull him back on top of him.
Patton just smiled gently and took his hand, lacing their fingers together. âIt wouldnât be fair to either of us to do that.â he murmured, kissing his wrist. âBut please donât leaveâŚâ He slowly moved to hold the taller male against his chest, chin resting atop his head. If Ronan really wanted to leave, Patton wouldnât stop him.
But he wanted him to stay so badly.
Roman grumbled something about Patton being a tease that Patton ignored as he felt arms wrap around him and hold him close. He relaxed, smiling gently.
He listened as Ronan drifted off to sleep, his breathing evening out and lulling Patton to sleep as well.
And for the first time in months, the young man slept the whole night through, finding comfort in sleeping next to someone else again.
A gentle breeze blows through the trees of the forest. The tips of the trees swaying like the ocean from up above. Above the trees there is a solitary half moon among a sea of vibrant stars that bedazzle the sky. Below the vast expanse of the sky there is a break in the trees as a path makes itâs way through the slightly misty and ominous woods.
The woods are almost silent save for the sound of wind and the various subtle sounds of nocturnal creatures skulking around. Bird song has ended hours ago and is a long ways away from beginning again to start the new day.
The smell of the woods is strong, the smell of wood, of the breeze carrying a hint the scent of a civilization just beyond the trees nearby. Everything feels exactly as a forest should be... but....
The forest is mostly silent until...
Clop. Clop. Clop. Clop. Clop.
Off in the distance is heard the far off pounding of hoofs layered to almost unintelligibility. It is not for another minute or two that the source of the noise finally comes into sight.Â
A covered wagon comes around the bend in the path through the trees, pulled by a team of two horses, plodding along at a steady pace. The driver is able to be made out at a distance, but blends in with the night as they appear to be wearing pure black.
As the wagon is coming into view, from the opposite direction is heard a far off rustling. But nothing is visible initially from that direction except for fast movements far, far off.Â
Seeming to sense this, the driver pulls back on the reins to pull the horses into a slower pace. Their cloak is now distinct as the wagon slows. It is pure black as some may use for stealth at night.Â
However, something that betrays the image of stealth the cloak is seemingly meant for are the bright yellow gloves of the figure gripping the reins. They look out at the night, searching for something in the forest from where the rustling was heard.
They turn to look into the covered wagon and say something that is not made out, turning back quickly to again search the forest to see if thereâs an ambush around the bend..Â
And then the light of a torch is seen. And then another. And then another.Â
They are moving fast as they flicker in and out of sight behind the trees.
And they are moving towards the wagon.
It seems the inhabitants are going to be in a very sticky situation very soon.

The start of..... something..... truly intriguing.
Whisper into listening ears your questions and thoughts.
(It's been a while since this au has posted lol. Let's try and get back on track....uhhh...) Thomas! How are things with you and the gang?
Thomas cranes his head up blearily from where heâs laying in the wagon. His hair is ruffled and he looks like he had just woken up. Which he probably has.
Time appears to have moved considerably with the sunlight streaming into the wagon. The last time you had seen them it was night and now it was solidly morning.Â
âOh... you guys left us hanging there. We were all going to play that guessing game and you just stopped talking all of a sudden. I- We were worried you had left somehow, but it appears you didnât!â
âSpeak for yourself,â Dee groaned from where he was cradling his face into his elbow, not wanting to uncover his eyes. âI would much rather they stayed quiet.â
âWell itâs a good thing you donât get to make that choice then.â Logan called out from the front of the wagon, a ghost of a smile on his face.
âMmph.â Patton finished the exchange with a muffled muttering of nothing anyone else could decipher.
Thomas smirks down at Pattonâs groggy face, his gaze softening at Pattonâs sleepy face. He smoothes a lock of Pattonâs hair out of his face quickly, but not quickly enough to not wake Patton up as he stirs. Wiping his eyes, Patton yawns and stretches out, nearly bopping Thomas on the nose as a result.
Thomas chuckles quietly as he places a gentle hand on Pattonâs hand.Â
âNearly took my nose out there Patton! Watch where youâre swinging those things!âÂ
Patton bolts up at that, his hands placing themselves on either side of Thomasâs face in concern.
âOh, I didnât hurt you did I?â
Rolling his eyes fondly, Thomas pulls lightly on Pattonâs arms to try to get Pattonâs hands off.
Thomas smiles and then turns to Logan at the front of the wagon. âI am, now... if everyoneâs up you said you wanted to leave as soon as we could today, Logan?â
Logan cranes his neck down in the wagon from where he had stood up and been lightly stretching.
âYes, letâs all get moving.... is it... pranto? No... Pronto! Letâs get moving pronto!â

It appears the gang has moved forward in time without you. Thankfully it doesnât appear to be too big of a jump. Right?
Hello Mr Yellow Gloves, it appears you may be under attack soon, are you ready to fight should it be necessary?
@supnerds asked:Â Why hello there Mr Yellow Glovesâcan I call you Mr Yellow Gloves?âhow are you doing on a maybe-not-so-quiet night like this?
The wearer of the yellow gloves looks up for a moment, not seeming surprised to hear a disembodied voice talk to them. They nod curtly and immediately go into motion. They pull back on the reins and bring the horses and the wagon to a complete stop.Â
Within the wagon, there is a fair bit of movement, suggesting the yellow glove wearing driver is not alone in trekking through the forest at such a late hour. You hear a quiet murmur of discussion, but the words are not discernible. The yellow gloved figure steps down from the wagon and in front of the wagon, patting the nearest horse gently to calm it.
11
The horse steadies, but still seems quite agitated at the steadily increasing volume of sound approaching them.
The world is still around the wagon, but suddenly, a figure bursts from the trees.
The yellow gloved figure jumps slightly, recovering to go into a defensive position as the figure runs rapidly towards them.
But as you are able to take in the details of the rapidly approaching figure, the figure seems incongruent with whatâs behind them.
The figure running towards the wagon is moving fast, but has a telltale uneven gait, as if limping. The cloak they have is cut and torn, with a clear sign of blood oozing from them.Â
Yellow gloves body language changes as they seem to realize the figure running at them is not part of the group obviously running towards them, but is actively running away from the group.
The yellow gloves shouts back to the wagon.
âLogan? Iâm definitely not gonna need you in a hot second~!â
-
Ah, we get the first name of the story! I wonder whatâs next~?
Hi Logan, nice to meet you! How are you guys gonna confront this group, do either of you have any weapons and/or fighting experience?
Logan, a dark blue skinned and dark haired tiefling, steps beside the figure with yellow gloves. He nods silently, hand on the sword at his side, seeming still wary of the figure running towards them.
The figure running to them finally meets them, stumbling every so often. Just as they get to Logan, they stumble, causing Logan to catch him. The figure tenses at Loganâs sudden contact with them, but you can finally see their face.
The figureâs face is bloody and their lip is busted open, they look human and have the very common brown. Their face is not recognizable from the countless bruises and cuts littered across their face.
2Â
Before Logan can do anything, an arrow screams towards them, his arm becoming a well of pain. (-12hp)Â But you wouldnât guess that by his face, as his face stays neutral.
The figure collapses in Logan arms, mumbling something about a savior and a misunderstanding.
Logan hefts the figure into the wagon, the figure seeming just on the verge of consciousness.
As Logan gets, he nods at the yellow gloved figure and then disappears into the wagon.
Yellow Gloves turns to the figures that have stopped just 15 feet away, sizing up the wagon party.Â
Yellow Glovesâs eyes start glow a bright yellow, and the attitude of the band of thieves grinning at the solitary figure suddenly drops into fear.

Ooooo, whatâs this mysterious yellow gloved figure going to do?
Yellow, what are you planning on doing? Please be careful!
Logan brings the figure into the wagon and you finally see the figure that was within the wagon. Curled up and initially asleep, they wake up the moment they see what their companion Logan is bringing in the wagon.
âLogan? What happened to you? Whatâs happened to them?â
They are much shorter that their companions. Theyâre stout and stocky like a dwarf, but their face is entirely smooth. Their hair is also a very light blonde, which not many dwarves have. But their complexion sans the fact they do not have a beard suggests theyâre a shield dwarf.
âIâm fine, Patton.â
âNo youâre not! You have a arrow in your shoulder!â
Logan makes a pointed look at Patton, causing Patton to snap his mouth shut and instead focus on the figure being brought into the wagon.
The figure is still awake, but seems very exhausted, eyes fluttering every so often.
âAm IâŚ?â
Patton grips the figure hand as they try to get up, seeming to think themselves still in danger.
âSh⌠hey bud⌠Youâre okay. I promise. No need to get up okay?â
âOkayâŚâ
Logan hesitates a moment before bowing over the figure, placing a hand on their stomach and placing his forehead on the figureâs forehead, making sure his horns donât dig into their head.
The figure breathes in a deep breath as the wagon seems to be filled with breath.
(+20hp)
That is until a loud sound is heard outside the wagon, but the moment you look outside, you just see the yellow gloved figure walking back to get on the wagon, with the thieves running back the way they came.
Patton peers out at Yellow Gloves and says, âDee? What happened to him?â

Oops, it seems you missed something.Â
Also, the figure seemed mighty low on health, thankfully these people got to him on time.
