[Event] Bombing of Macalester's

Sponsor: Giovanni Macini

Event date and time: In canon, all of Wednesday, April 23rd. However, new interactions may be posted anywhere from 6PM EST on April 23rd through April 30th.

Where it will take place: Everywhere, centered around a Lombardi front pharmacy (Macalester's)

Description of event: Under the guise of a truce, Giovanni Macini and Francesca Lombardi met at a Walgreens across the street from a Lombardi front pharmacy, Macalester's, with their best men waiting in case anything went wrong. However, it rapidly became clear that Giovanni's intentions weren't pure when he signalled a mysterious man across the street. This man then signalled Ruby, who disappeared from view mysteriously. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Giovanni and the rest of the Macini, Felicity was hard at work creating some mischief of her own. Victor noticed all this, but before he could intervene he was knocked out cold. As Letha looked on, Macalester's burst into flames and rubble--but not only that, the intended Macini escape routes were blocked, too. Francesca, realizing what happened, fired the first shot, triggering retaliation from both the Lombardi and the Macini.

The war is on.

Participation: This event is best done through paras, self-paras, and gif chats. Please note that this event is a fast-paced emergency situation, so modified gif chat/para hybrids may be a good idea--that way you can keep them short like a gif chat while also including action.

Please note that this is not an exclusively mob event! The smoke from the fire and explosions will be able to be seen from quite a distance, so it should attract the attention of a large percent of the city's populace. Whether your character is trapped in the fray or curious and on the sidelines, there's something in it for everyone!

[Event] Valentine's Day Ballet & Ball

Event date and time: In canon, all of Friday, February 14th. However, new interactions may be started anywhere from 4PM EST on February 14th through Friday, February 21st.

Where it will take place: The Chicago Auditorium Theatre

Description of event: Chicago Mayor George Baker, in an act of philanthropy, donated to a promising new ballet company. As a result, the company volunteered their services in support of his gubernatorial campaign, putting on Marius Petipa's La Bayadère. The ballet starts promptly at four and will be followed by a banquet and dance in the theatre's adjoining ballroom. Please note that this event is strictly non-alcoholic, but with the live music, food, and dancing, it shouldn't be hard to keep occupied in other ways. Campaign donations are more than welcomed, but not required.

[Event] Opening Party

Event date and time: In canon, the evening of Saturday, January 18th. However, new interactions may be started anywhere from 5pm on Saturday January 18th through Saturday, January 25th.

Where it will take place: The event will take place at The Siren — the gentlemen’s social club which Sandy McKenzie will be opening.

Description of event: After many months of scrupulous saving and spending, Sandy McKenzie’s latest business venture is finally ready for opening. A bordello masquerading as a men’s social club, The Siren is a sumptuous feast for the eyes, and all of your other senses as well. Sandy has spared no expense to ensure that his opening night goes off without a hitch. With music being provided by the ever popular Simon Anderson and some exquisite delicacies by Chicago’s own James Elliot, there’s already more than enough to keep any partygoers happy. But if that isn’t enough, the liquor is pouring freely, and there’s dozens of lovely ladies and gents to keep each and every person who walks in the door happy. (Any sort of IC drama that players decide to plan for this event is fine by me! Sandy is just here to facilitate the fun!)

PS: Though this event canonically takes place only on Wednesday, October 30th, remember that you may post new material for it all the way until Friday, November 1st! It would be nice if you tried to have your interactions for it wrapped up by then, too, but there's no absolute set cut-off so don't fret about that too much. Have fun!

[Event] Halloween Party

Event date and time: The evening of Wednesday, October 30th

Where it will take place: The Drake Hotel

Description of event: A Halloween party thrown by the Stingray's own Ollie Oxford. Spanning the entire lobby of the Drake Hotel, this bonanza will feature a ballroom, a "non-alcoholic" bar, a murder mystery, and an indoor pool, all the trappings of a luxury hotel for the use of every guest. Everyone who's anyone will be there, so make sure to show up--but be forewarned, either you attend in costume or you don't attend at all!

Participation: This event is best done through paras, self-paras, and gif chats. Though it will canonically happen on Wednesday night exclusively, I understand that weekdays are busy for a lot of you so you'll be able to post starters for it anywhere from Wednesday to Friday, and plots made in that time can continue until they are finished. I'd make it longer, but we've got a lot going on right now so I don't want to draw it out too much!
