Beloved Chicago Cook Reported Missing
James Elliot, 29, was reported missing late last night by his cousin and co-worker, Martha Bevard, 22. Elliot was well-known about the city for establishing Elliot's, a local diner and favorite spot of many. When questioned by police, Bevard said that he had been gone for about a week prior to her report and she only began to get worried when she did not hear from him during this time. No note explaining Elliot's intent was left behind.
Police investigated Elliot's restaurant and living quarters and found no signs of foul play, though it has been said that a few articles of clothing and a suitcase were missing from the apartment. However, rumors of Lombardi involvement have surfaced regarding Elliot's recent activities and some believe he may have been caught in a crossfire of some kind. Those who associated with him closely denied knowledge of said mob activities.
Sam Ashley, 24, Elliot's former sous chef, has announced that he will be looking after Elliot's in his absence. When interviewed, he stressed that he has no ambitions regarding acquiring Elliot's for himself and wished to make it known that "Wherever he is, I just hope Elliot is safe and that he comes home soon."
