Got to FINALLY come up with an Alii video game. Took a while. This has been a placeholder scene for a while. So hope this is better.
From The Secret Portal, Part One (Lexi POV)
I followed Robbie’s avatar as he showed me the ropes of the game. It was quite interesting, actually. It was a horror-survival game where there was a virus that warped an Alii’s powers to a disturbing degree. I’d never been into horror, so I kept screaming.
“Watch out, Lexi!” Akash screamed from behind me, pointing at the screen where what looked like a zombie jumped around a corner.
I shrieked as I slammed my finger into the tablet screen, into the “Use Power” symbol as I had my character teleport behind the zombie. Then I used a few sword swipes at the thing in front of me. “Ahhhh!” Maddie screamed with me until the zombie was dead.
“Epic,” said Kelsey.

Yeah I'm combining a bunch of posts. Who cares?
This scene is 90% dialogue, so it fits. It's also iconic in my mind.
From The Secret Portal Part One (Robbie POV)
“However, some people have cereal dry, which means that the cereal is a fatless skeleton, but we add fat if we feel the need.”
“Does that make the bowl the flesh?”
“Of course it does.”
“So we’re eating the insides right out of the skin?”
Akash paused. “Yes.”
“Terrifyingly morbid,” I said, taking a huge bite of my soggy bowl-innards.
Question proposed, for context: is cereal the skeleton of milk?

Using The Secret Portal Part One
Hand - Lexi POV
“How was your birthday?” I asked as I spun my lock. “You feeling better?”
“It was alright, and I am,” Ash answered, spinning her lock again. “God, I hate this thing. In band, Mr. Taylor had everyone play ‘Happy Birthday.’ He had a score and everything.” She pulled up on the handle. When the locker didn’t open, she pulled in rapid succession. She swore under her breath and set her binder on the ground. She used her now-free hand to push against the locker and began to input the combination again.
Eye - Lexi POV
“It seems weird,” I said, almost walking backwards to keep an eye on her as I turned around the corner of the school. “Like—ah!” My boot got caught on the grass, causing my feet to slip. I tumbled onto the ground and dropped my violin, the “oof!” that followed indicating Ash tripped over the sturdy case.
It was eerily quiet and the smell of the exhaust was gone. I became hyper-aware of the grass I lay in and shot up to a seated position, jumping when I realized nothing was in sight but a dizzyingly-clear horizon.
Neck - Maddie POV
My tongue scraped my braces as I willed Noelle to stir. I caught a glimpse of Kelsey holding her neck, likely in pain from the ticking that had been aggravated. Still scratching my tongue, squeezing Wilfredo with my right hand, I placed the other one on Kelsey’s shoulder and squeezed it. She put her free hand on mine.
Head - Lexi POV
It was a bit far-fetched, but no further than being an alien. I felt human. Or Ceter. Or whatever. At least I thought I felt human.
My original theory about hitting my head on the concrete was holding more weight.
Wow these certainly build up when you're not consistently drafting/making large edits, don't they!
Not to worry! Replying to everyone at once!! Because I'm unfortunately the kind of person who wants to reply to everyone who tags me no matter how late...despite most of y'all probably forgetting completely about this...
The thing is, I was setting this up when I didn't think my break for world building would be *checks calendar* yikes, a few months?! And I'm not even anywhere near done?? So after finding a stopping point, I went back to revising TSP. Thank God.
And it didn't seem fair to stop keeping track of these. So here it is: all tags I've gotten for this game since March! See below.

Rules 1: post the last seven lines you wrote/edited
Alright so I actually got two different versions of this. The original purpose of the game (cast majority), and a new one (only a few).
Rules 2: post seven facts about your world
Version One - last seven lines
Alium's Earth rotates the opposite direction, meaning the sun goes from west to east.
This is the last bit of the add-on to Robbie vs Jason:
From The Secret Portal Part One (Robbie POV)
To be fair, I don’t pay attention most of the time, and I was focused on punching Jason.
“But he did this!” Jason protested, pointing at the Jason-sized dent.
Ms. Loudermilk reached inside her classroom and then pulled out a bag of sports balls.
“Thank you, Isana,” Ms. Bradley said.
“That’s not all, miss!” Jason interjected. “He also glowed and threw me across the hall and made the lights flicker!”
Version Two - seven facts
Alium's calendar only has six days in a week.
Alium is divided into 10 Sectors.
Alii children get their powers when they are ten years old.
Alium and Ceteri were two separate universes that crashed into each other, forming trillions of portals throughout the universe.
There are 20 powers in the Alii database, though two more are found throughout the series.
It is common practice for Alii children take the surname of the parent with the higher-Level power, or how many subpowers an Alii has. If it's equal, the Alii with the greater Class, or rarity, typically passes down their surname. If both are the same, the parents will usually hyphenate.

Posting a bit from the recent Akash flashback!
From The Secret Portal Part Two (Akash POV)
“AKASH AKASH AKASH AKASH!” Sammy’s voice said from behind the door. “Are you up!?”
“I would be now,” I said, hopefully loud enough for her to hear as I floated across the room. “What’s the big—” I cut myself off when I opened the door to find all four of the Staffords crowding outside in the hallway holding wrapped boxes.
“Happy birthday!” they all exclaimed before erupting into song. They were all a bit off-key, which hurt my choir-loving-soul, but I was too confused to process what was going on. I glanced at my calendar on the wall and realized with annoyance that I still had it flipped to May.

From The Secret Portal Part Two (Lexi POV)
I watched her go. Noelle looked up and smiled softly as she neared. I smiled, too, and gave Hye-Jin a thumbs up as she turned around to sit. Hye-Jin stuck her tongue out slightly as she lowered into the chair. My gaze drifted to Akash and Gwen, holding hands on the top of the table.
Maybe it wasn't so silly to date at this age. I still had no interest in doing so. Maybe it’s the aversion to touch, I thought as I messed with my gloves. Yes, that was likely it.
What are you talking about?? I'm not projecting onto Lexi AT ALL!!!

Rules: Write something without dialogue. Inner dialogue is allowed, but that's it. Thoughts and actions, to keep the scene/snippet silent
Here's a little bit from my most recent finished chapter. For context, Maddie got into a pretty bad physical fight.
From The Secret Portal Part Two (Maddie POV)
I didn’t feel bad for what I did for Brycen, which kinda bothered me. Should I feel bad? I mean, I don’t feel great right now… but I dunno if I regret it or not.
But Lexi would apologize. Lexi would definitely feel bad.
Now, she clearly was disappointed with me. On the first day back from break I got into a public, bloody fight before the first bell? I was careless enough to use my powers in front of the school without a shifting suit?
I was shaking by the time Pia came to pick me up. She seemed disappointed. When we got home, I went straight to work on one of the LEGO sets that had built up on my shelf and got to work. Might as well stay as productive as possible until my sister got home.
I'm not sure how well this inner monologue from Maddie went, but I hope it's decent. Slightly self-aware for her, but I think it mostly works. I'll see what happens when I revise it.
