Despite being called a "joke" and "pretend", Narrator had spent several days shut in and working tirelessly on the wedding. He didn't want to get married anywhere in the parable, oh no no, he built an entirely brand new mountain range for him and Stanley to elope on.
He of course made himself look much more flashy than Stanley, who was given a typical black suit and a blue flower pinned to his left breast. Narrators was a golden and glittery 3 piece suit that was blinding in the sun, he had an entire Boquet of orange and yellow flowers (because obviously he wanted to be the most important) within the bucket.
Jack was appointed as the best man. He asked very nicely if he could wear a dress...and so narrator didn't object. Connor didn't have any other clothes so he stayed in his coat, Timekeeper had donned a very pretty (yet not too flashy, as not to draw any attention away from Narrator) sun dress, and Curator had on a dress shirt tucked into black pants.
Oh! How could we forget the line? It was swinging happily as a tie around narrators neck. Curator had volunteered to officiate the wedding, which seemed out of character until you consider how neat and orderly she is.
Narrator kept giggling like a child at the altar, acting like such a fool for Stanley, who was smiling bright as the sun in kind. Curator rolled her eyes as they kissed, but secretly she was having a good time.
Afterwards was of course the party. Narrator gave a 3 hour toast, that was forcefully interrupted by Curator asking if they could drink yet. Stanley gave a much shorter one, mostly about how nice it was to finally be out of that damn office.
Narrator had requested he and Stanley have a first dance. It was adorable to watch the two lean on each other and whisper quickly like gossiping teenagers. Narrator had never seen Stanley so damn beautiful before.
Eventually everyone was drunk, and thoroughly satisfied with the day. Especially Narrator. He felt...happy. He truly felt happy. Perhaps...perhaps he and Stanley could have a honeymoon after this all. Yes, a nice honeymoon.
