Don’t Cry Over Spilled Coffee

Inspired by this post from @theimprobabledreamersworld

Warnings: Reckless behavior

__ “Hey Virgil.” Patton said, turning to his best friend with a slight mischievous glint in his eyes. They had been lounging on the couch, lazing about since it was Saturday and their schedule was free for once.

Virgil looked up from his phone where he had definitely not been reading fanfiction, raised an eyebrow and asked,”Yeah?”

“Wanna know something?” Patton questioned in a tone that sounded suspiciously like Remus.

Virgil slightly narrowed his eyes, replying with,”Sure?”

“If I run and jump at Logan, he will most certainly catch me.” Patton said, grinning as he set down his cup of hot chocolate.

Virgil looked across the room to Logan who was walking out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee. “...”

He already had a prediction of how this would end and since Roman wasn’t awake to snap it away, he dreaded the mess that would most likely be created and inevitably have to be cleaned up.

Patton noticed his hesitance and stood up, not bothering to look at Logan, or what he was holding in his right hand, fully before running towards him.

“Coming in!” The moral side exclaimed, startling his partner whose eyes immediately wided, in an almost comical manner.

“NO, I’m holding coffee!” Logan said, right as Patton leapt into the air, a leap that would impress most ballet teachers.

Logan dropped his mug which in turn smashed on the floor, sending coffee and clay shards flying everywhere. He caught Patton in a bridal style hold, the latter grinned and sent a thumbs up to Virgil.

Virgil snorted and stood up, going to retrieve the mop. “Outstanding.” He said in a sarcastic, yet slightly amused tone.

Logan turned to look at Patton, sighing in exasperation.

“Sorry?” Patton supplied sheepishly. Logan snorted and said,”I expect nothing less from you my dear.”

“I love you too Lo.” Patton replied, booping Logan on the nose which spurred the logical side to reciprocate the gesture.

“Oi, lovebirds, do you mind maybe moving and helping to clean up?” Virgil said, returning with a broom, several towels, and the vacuum.

“Sorry!” Patton called. Both partner’s faces flushed at the lovebirds label and Virgil snickered, tossing them both towels after they cleared out of the coffee, glass shard full area.

“In the future, maybe don’t jump at someone who’s holding hot coffee.” Virgil said. Patton blushed in embarrassment. “I’m sorry.” He said, kneeling down to help wipe up the spilled coffee.

Virgil rolled his eyes and smiled. Despite the mess, he was glad his friends were happy.
