What do we say about coincidences? Sometimes you die in a carseat while calling your parents and a week later a guy smashes into the car
“Relax,” says John, over and over in the car. “It’s two syllables.” (Who says that to a woman who’s having contractions? ‘It’s two syllables’?)
“Just relax,” says the stewardess on the plane. “Oh, ok, relax. She said relax.”
“I think I’m dying.”
Even the first time I watched it I felt this was not a John Watson shirt, he always used to look so warm and soft, he just looks so cold and unapproachable
apologies for the scattered thoughts but
I'm rewatching tst because I'm writing a fix it for @hopelesslybenaddicted featuring evil villain Mary...wow? This episode is so thick with question causing moments... here is one: When Sherlock first encounters the missing Thatcher bust, as he's examining the front porch where it was smashed, he flashes on Moriarty saying, "Miss me?".... and then later, we see that "E" texts John "Miss you." We've seen "Miss me" before, but it struck me that these two little phrases are the titles on Mary's two dvds? I believe the "miss you" dvd arrives when we're in John's mind bungalow, but regardless, we're getting a strange set of connections drawn between Mary, Eurus, and Moriarty. (Or, Mary read John's texts and is posthumously taunting him with her knowledge of his guilt...OR John's mind bungalow is making a connection between Eurus and Mary...see below?) Sherlock thinks he's chasing down Moriarty's game; really he's unearthing Mary's past--same / same? Eurus is also lurking, red wigged, in the background at this point. We're getting a connection, however intuitive, between Eurus and Mary. I've been thinking, since my tfp rewatch, that Eurus and Moriarty are more than just weird snake dancing buddies in this episode. The way her reflection is imposed over his face makes it seem like it's more. I know tfp leads us to believe that she's the one who planted the Moriarty Miss Me? video, but how? And why? is never addressed, only implied. I need to go through the episodes again, but if tfp is John's mind bungalow, then is it possible that Eurus as we see her in tst and tld is not the third Holmes sibling, but is, rather, simply, a Moriarty? If Mycroft's revelation about her in tfp is entirely in John's mind, is it possible that Eurus lies to John about who she is, before she shoots him? I'm not saying there isn't another Holmes sibling--just that perhaps it isn't her (*cough* Sherrinford *cough*). She is there, after all, at the end of tld, to continue Moriarty's project of burning Sherlock's heart out by harming, or perhaps killing, John. I'm headcanoning, hard, for the purpose of this fic, that the Thatcher busts are part of a plot to trigger Mary's endgame as Mrs. Warson, and to release her back into the wild as the Moran like figure she should always have been--after her melodramatically faked death, of course. The rewatch, however, has got me seeing all kinds of weird layers all over tst. I love spitballing theory and am terrible at doing it solo so if anyone has thoughts, please join me.
the way it was shot just LOOKS like a sniper
Sherlock: calls John a romantic
Also Sherlock: believes in The One
Rewatching TST. I broke a pencil in anger because Sherlock kept saying “I made a vow”. Can someone please tell him to shut up.
