alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
please rb for larger sample size!
Question 1/3
What is your age, and do you feel AI is a net positive or net negative in our lives today?
under 18, AI is a net positive
under 18, AI is a net negative
18-29, AI is a net positive
18-29, AI is a net negative
30-45, AI is a net positive
30-45, AI is a net negative
46-60, AI is a net positive
46-60, AI is a net negative
over 60, AI is a net postive
over 60, AI is a net negative
Question 2/3
How often do you visit or interact with museums/archives (whether in person or online)?
Frequently (multiple times per month)
Often (multiple times per year)
Occasionally (a couple times per year)
Rarely (once every couple of years)
Never :(
Question 3/3
If you saw a museum was using AI in exhibits, marketing, research, etc., would you be more or less inclined to visit that museum?
under 18, more inclined
under 18, less inclined
18-29, more inclined
18-29, less inclined
30-45, more inclined
30-45, less inclined
46-60, more inclined
46-60, less inclined
over 60, more inclined
over 60, less inclined
Thank you for helping with this data collection. Please rb for as big a sample as possible!

Imagine how many great, weird, awesome stories would exist if writers actually wrote instead of scrolling on tumblr
u know what i didn't come here to be attacked like this
since it’s pride month, throwback to this beautiful cover and this wholesome interaction between two icons
Stages of writing a novel: (1) this is a great idea (2) this is a good idea (3) this is an idea (4) what even is this (5) i have made a terrible mistake (6) okay there's something here (7) this is actually good (8) this is too good, something is wrong (9) wait did i accidentally write something real (10) close laptop. do not think about it for three days. open laptop. start over from stage 4.
I regularly have dreams I refer to as "Big Luca Dreams", wherein my dog Luca is very big. They are my favorite dreams.

Hi! It’s been really exciting to see all the takes on proper beta reader etiquette- I feel like beta readers have fallen out of fashion recently and it’s good to know that people are still interested.
I was wondering if it’s possible to be a beta reader without being a published fic author. I love reading fanfic and editing people’s writing (mostly grammar, sentence structure, etc.) but I haven’t published anything myself. I’m sure most people looking for a beta reader would prefer to read something that the reader has written to make sure styles and such align, but would any writers be open to a beta reader with no published works?
Of course you can beta read without being a writer yourself! You still have thoughts and opinions that can be shared. And as we've discussed, there are many types of betas:
grammar and spelling checkers
canon compliance checkers
characterization checkers
localization and translation help
consistency and logical flow help
reading for sensitivity to marginalized or underrepresented groups
assisting with AO3 tags and summary
cheer reading (being an enthusiastic reader to motivate the author to keep going)
Betas are often a rare resource in fandom - especially now when they aren't talked about as much. Putting yourself out there as a volunteer would be appreciated. I'm sure of it!
Big huge blog news (book news)
Hi y'all!
For about a year now this news has been officially [redacted], but now it's free. My debut YA novel, BORDERLINE, was acquired by Union Square Kids, an imprint of Hatchette Book Group, and is scheduled to hit shelves next summer 2027. Also they mentioned my blog in the official announcement, as you can see, which is hilarious. Anyway.
I'm really excited to have a book out in the world soon! BORDERLINE was actually kind of built by the blog, considering my beta readers were all followers who volunteered. (Beta readers: expect a separate email). So many people have been so kind about my work here, my future work, and this whole process, so THANK YOU, first and foremost.
If you've liked what I do here, it would mean the world to me to have your continued support! Tell your online friends, tell your real life friends, tell your library, etc etc! My instagram will shortly be transforming into an author page, so if the mood strikes you, please give me a follow @lilia.vc ! This alone would be an enormous, enormous help.
Finally, if you have any questions please send them my way! Thanks again, keep writing, and as always, stay weird.
- Lilia
learning a new instrument from a single teacher is so funny bc that's your point of reference for a while until you start branching out a little. was talking to a specialist in irish music history about my early irish harp lessons and i was like "it's a good thing i have strong fingernails so i don't have to get acrylics to play" and he was like "you're playing with your fingernails?" and i was like "yeah my teacher said that's how you play" and he was like "that's how irish harp players used to play like 1,000 years ago. i don't know anyone who plays with their fingernails now. even in the 1700s at a harp festival we have record of just one guy playing with his fingernails."
i guess he can't say no one is playing like this anymore bc at least my teacher is but this is why when ur new to something u can't walk around assuming you have all the facts. thought i was learning harp like usual meanwhile my teacher is an extremely dedicated medieval reenactor.

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH FROM @FRANCOISARNAUDSOURCE!
I'm sure many bisexual guys feel the same and end up doing as I did: letting other people's assumptions of straightness stand uncorrected. Perhaps out of fear of oversharing. Under the guise of privacy, maybe. Probably because "masculinity" is a most fragile currency, ready to nose-dive at the first sign of vulnerability or difference. And because it's really fucking scary to give up your privilege. Without a doubt because stigmas of indecisiveness, infidelity, deception and trendiness are still clinging to bisexuality. But here's the thing. Silence has the perverse effect of perpetuating those stereotypes, making bi guys invisible, and leading people to doubt that we even exist. No wonder it's still a chore to acknowledge bisexuality without getting into lengthy explanations. So, yes, labels are frustrating and words, imperfect. But I've always considered myself bisexual. Not confused or trying to look edgy. Not disloyal. Not ashamed. Not invisible. - François Arnaud
My dear friend, When I was 13 years old and in a dark place I wrote you a message that we'd now call trauma-dumping in which I told you I was feeling suicidal. Not only did you respond to me, but you were so kind and told me I was brave. More than a decade has passed since then. I left tumblr and came back, I got two degrees, I changed my name, and more. I recently remembered your tumblr and am so happy that you are still here, still making silly Sherlock drawings. I don't know what the last decade has been like for you. I hope it has shown you so much kindness like what you gave to me so many years ago. I hope that you show that level of kindness to yourself. Thank you for listening to a scared teenager. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I love you <3
Dear anon friend,
To be honest when I logged into tumblr this week again and read your message I cried a little because I had a really hard day at work and then your message was so nice, and then the next day I felt really good because I had your words with me, so thank you. Maybe fandom can seem silly to other people but isn't it great that we are still connected in some way after 10 years because of a BBC Sherlock adaptation and get each other through hard days? (´꒳`)♡
I am so happy to hear what your last decade has been like! Thank you genuinely so much for sharing!! I can't wait for the next one and all the great things you will do. You wrote that you were "trauma-dumping". I just want to say I'm really glad you reached out 10 years ago. You were a child and needed help, and you got that child help. I'm really proud you did and I hope you are as well. (´。• ᵕ •。`) ♡
And just like this it is may 31th again!! Where did the last year go? What happened to me wanting to post more comics?? Well, let's try again this year!! (°□°;)
I hope it was a good year for everyone. Sherlock will always be here. And John too! (*ˊᗜˋ*)
