Join us for the final volunteer hemlock day of the treatment season! We'll be treating trees in a corridor along the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail between the KY-192 trailhead in Laurel County and Vanhook Falls. All registered volunteers will receive a free Kentucky Heartwood t-shirt (sizes and colors subject to availability, but we have lots). We'll meet at the Starbucks parking lot in London (directly off I-75 exit 38) and leave at 9:00 a.m. for the 192 trailhead, ~15 miles away. Carpooling is encouraged. Once on the trail we'll divide into teams with the Forest Service and State Division of Forestry staff. Volunteers will measure and mark treated trees while licensed applicators apply the chemical insecticide imidacloprid.
