Hi! I wanted to ask if you could do a Tsuji x shy Reader? Reader is extremely shy and innocent but is the younger sister of Hyuga. He’s extremely protective of Reader as is all of Daruma. Reader starts dating Tsuji and she sneaks out to visit him (which she never did before) and they catch them on a date at the school.
(P.S I love your writing! I’m so happy someone else is also writing for the series!)
I love this! Sorry it took me a little longer than I wanted it to, but I wanted it to be good (and as soon as I was going to start writing it earlier today I was pulled out of the house)
Anyways, here it is, I hope you like it!!
Pairing: Tsuji x shy!Reader (Hyuga’s younger sister)
Warnings: angst, fluff, sneaking out/implied kidnapping, little but of anxiety
Y/n. The most protected member of the Daruma Family. The one that any of the others would go to the ends of the earth for. Hyuga’s beloved younger sister. Despite what others think, you are not as protected as you are just for being Hyuga’s younger sister, but also because of who you are as a person. Shy, quiet, and innocent, with the kindest heart that anyone has ever met. Being associated with the Daruma Family, people naturally assume that you are as tough as the rest of the gang, however, for the people who know you, they know that you wouldn’t hurt a fly. You have always been rather quiet. Even being comfortable around the rest of the gang, you are still very soft spoken, and only talk when someone is talking to you. You usually keep to yourself, even when hanging out with the others. Because of your gentle soul, the Daruma Family is remarkably protective over you. There is not a single step you take outside of home alone. Walking to the market, walking to school, even walking to the small coffee shop just around the corner, someone is always with you, so that nothing bad will ever happen to you. Everyone knows that you are vulnerable, and that if anyone asked for help, even being shy, you would help them. This makes you a target to the other gangs of SWORD, and if anything bad happened to you, hell would break loose, and blood would be shed. Hyuga is the most protective over you, and if he can't be there to protect you, he will go out of his way to make sure that someone else is. He may seem heartless, and cold to others, but you are his entire world, and he would do anything to keep you safe.
Although you would never sneak away from home, there were nights you found yourself on the roof, simply looking at the stars, thinking about your life. You enjoyed being a part of the Daruma Family, though there were times when you wanted to have the freedom to walk to the market without having someone glued to your side. There were times where you dreamed of going on a walk, without having someone follow you. You know, being Hyuga’s little sister, that the other SWORD gang’s wouldn’t be foolish enough to do anything to you, so it was not something that you personally worried about. There were nights you thought about finding love, and not having to deal with all of Daruma trying to beat up the poor guy for courting you. All of these thoughts run through your head, while looking at the stars.
“Y/n, are you on the roof again? I thought I told you it's not safe to be all the way up there.” You hear your brother calling up to you from the doorway. Returning to reality, you quietly make your way down from the roof, and gracefully arrive back on the ground.
“Sorry, Nii-san, I just wanted to see the stars more clearly.” You said, bowing your head to him. He let out a sigh, and placed a hand on your head, gently ruffling your hair. A small smile traces his lips. He admires your innocence, which is why he is so protective over you. He wishes he could be like you, kind to everyone, not exposed to constant battles and fights, but since he can't have that life, he wants to provide that for you.
“Let’s get some sleep, yeah?” He says, ushering you inside for the night, and with that you retreat into your room for the night.
The next morning, you wake up and start your morning routine. Everything seems normal, as you brush your teeth and get dressed for the day. It’s market day, and by now, there is minimal food left in the house. When you enter the family gathering room, you see that everyone is locked into a serious discussion. This can only mean one thing. They are discussing a fight, probably to happen later in the day. Quietly turning around, you go into the kitchen to find something that could be made into some sort of breakfast. Being that there is not much left from feeding the Daruma Family, you settle on scrambled eggs, and coffee, a normal breakfast for you. As you are enjoying your breakfast, the large group begins to exit the room. It’s clear that none of them are very happy, though they try to hide that when they see you.
“We are going out, I know that it’s market day, and I hate that I am about to say this, but I think you are going to have to go alone this time. Do you still have those self protection tools that I gave to you?” Hyuga says as he walks up and joins you at the table.
“Yes, I have them. I'll be fine Nii-San, the market is just down the block.” You replied quietly.
“Okay, I will leave money for you to take with you. Maybe a little extra so you can get some sweets to snack on?” He says, the same soft smile on his lips, as he ruffles your hair again, something that he does often.
“Thank you. I will be safe, I promise.” You state quietly, yet confidently, something that you have been working on lately. Confidence. Hoping that your older brother and the others in the Daruma Family will take notice, and will give you some space to breathe. With a hum of acceptance, and a gentle smile, Hyuga gets up from the table, places the money on the counter, and leaves without another word, the rest of the gang following behind him. The familiar sound of the car engines roar, and drift off into the distance, leaving you in silence.
After finishing your breakfast, you decided it would be best to go to the market sooner rather than later. All of the best foods are gone by the early afternoon, so it's better to go in the morning, while everything is still fresh. You grabbed the money, along with a small purse to hold everything, and walked out the door. As you approach the gates of the house, you are filled with excitement, but also nerves. You were excited that your brother finally trusted that you could do something on your own, but at the same time, you were nervous to be going alone… counteractive, right? Nonetheless, you start down the street, humming a familiar tune that seems to always be stuck in your head.
At the market, you grab everything that you need, along with the sweets, and all of it was more than you expected. You are used to carrying bags, but you forgot about the fact that there is usually someone there to help you. The merchant offered a box for you to place the bags in, hoping that it would be easier to walk home with, and you accepted the offer with a kind smile. Still, the box was rather heavy. Every few minutes you had to take a break, and set the box down. Let’s just say, carrying weight like this for longer than a few minutes, is not your strong suit.
As you are leaving the market, a couple boys are entering the area. One of them makes eye contact with you, and can see that you are clearly struggling, while the other is going on about different foods that he wants to get.
“I'll be right back, I'll catch up with you.” The boy who caught your eye says to the other. As they go their separate ways, you don't think much of it, until he is standing in front of you. Towering over you, making you feel small, he can tell the nerves that are emanating from you. He gives you a soft smile, one that makes you feel slightly comforted. There's something about him. Something comforting. Something that tells you he's a good person.
“Hi, I’m Tsuji. Are you okay?” He asks with a soft and caring voice. Shyness taking over, you give him a small nod, and avoid eye contact. “Can I help you with this? How far are you from here?” He asks, waiting patiently for a response from you.
“It’s okay, it’s not a far walk, I can do it. Thank you for the offer though.” You state, almost in a whisper, yet just loud enough for Tsuji to hear you.
“Nonsense, a pretty girl like you shouldn’t have to carry something so heavy alone. Let me carry it for you.” He doesn't really give you an option, as he already has the large box in his arms. Accepting that he isn’t going to let you carry your things, you nod and begin walking. He tries to make small talk along the way, though you find it hard to reply. Tsuji takes note of your shy nature, and continues talking, hoping that it’ll make you feel a little more comfortable.
When you arrive at the house, you are unsure if anyone has returned home. Stopping at the gate, you finally turn to him. He sets the box down, and gives you another soft smile. What’s with him? Why is he so nice? And why are his eyes so mesmerizing? And that soft smile, its giving me butterflies…
“Hey, are you okay?” He questions, his soft smile turned into a look of concern, pulling you out of your thoughts.
“Oh, yes, thank you, I appreciate the help.” You reply, a little louder than the first time, earning a chuckle from Tsuji.
“Of course, it was no problem. You still haven’t told me your name though.” He says, the soft smile returning to his lips.
“Oh! It’s y/n. Y/n Hyuga.” Nerves still fill your body, you keep your eyes on the ground.
“Hyuga, as in Daruma Family Hyuga?” Tsuji questions, earning a nod from you. He is silent for a minute as he is clearly thinking about something. “Well, I might get my ass kicked for this, but I think you are beautiful. Maybe I could get your number, and we can get coffee sometime? I would really like to get to know you more. Shyness and all.” He says with a wink.
Stunned, you froze for a second before agreeing to give him your number. With that, he walks back towards the market, leaving you with a smile, and a wave in the distance. Still shocked from the interaction, you stand in front of the house for a few minutes longer, trying to process what had just happened. You felt so… so free… something so out of character for you, and something that had you shaking in your shoes, yet you felt a sudden surge of excitement. After a few moments, you grab the box, and enter the house, unable to contain the smile painted on your face.
Tsuji: Hey pretty girl, what are you doing today?
Y/n: just going to school, then going home. What are you doing today?
Tsuji: Hoping that you’re willing to take a risk with me…
Y/n: What do you mean? Our entire relationship is a risk…
Tsuji: Sneak out and come see me? Only if you want to though, I don't want you to feel pressured, I know it's not easy getting away from everyone…
Y/n: I'll let you know after school okay?
Tsuji: Sounds good, pretty girl, have a good day :)
Those text messages immediately spiked your nerves. Sneak out?! Maybe he really is crazy… I’m dating a crazy person. But what if I did? Would I get caught? No way, I'll tell them I’m going to my room early for homework and then going to bed. That’s not out of the norm right? They wont suspect anything… Your thoughts spiraling about the conversation throughout the whole day, making it hard to focus during your classes.
The past three months have been great for you and Tsuji. After about a month of getting to know each other, you had opened up more to him than you have with most of the Daruma Family. He came to your school at least three times a week to eat lunch with you, knowing that you wouldn’t skip class, and that Hyuga would be there after the day is done to pick you up. You stressed the fact that your relationship needed to be kept a secret for his own safety, which he agreed to, with the exception of Shibaman and Todoroki, who also agreed to keep the relationship a secret, knowing that you are just looking out for him. Regardless, Tsuji makes you feel like a princess everyday. Whether it is simple texts, or showing up to your school with flowers, or even a lunch on the days that you forgot yours at home. He always has a way of making you feel loved, and never fails to make you smile. Hyuga has seen it before, though he believed you when you told him that your friends from school were telling jokes that made you smile.
Later that day, you finally made the decision. You are going to sneak out for the first time ever. You're going to take the risk. It’s not like anyone will find out, you usually retreat to your room as soon as school is over so that you can get your work done. Except today, you did all of the homework for your classes while you were in other classes so that you didn't have to worry about it later. Walking out of school at the end of the day, Hyuga is standing at the entrance, per usual, and is unfazed by your quietness. He asks about your day, to which you tell him a few of the new things that you learned, though that is as far as the conversation got before you made it home.
“Y/n, did you want to hang out with us tonight? We were thinking of having a barbecue?” Hyuga asks as you arrive at the house.
“Oh, that’s okay Nii-San, I have a lot of homework to do tonight.” You replied, with a simple smile as you escaped to your room.
Y/n: Hey I just got home, give me a few hours, and then meet me at the market!
Tsuji: You got it, can't wait to see you!
After a couple hours, the group was back inside, doing whatever they decided to do for the night. Whatever it was, there was a lot of commotion coming from the basement, so you knew that they were all down there, and that this was the perfect time to sneak out. Leaving through your bedroom window, you sneak around through the backyard, and work your way around the house to the street.
Finally at the market, Tsuji is already there waiting for you. As soon as he sees you, he gives you the most heartwarming smile, and embraces you in the most comforting hug.
“Hi pretty girl, I’ve missed you.” He says planting a small peck to your lips.
“I've missed you too!” You smiled at him. “Well, I managed to sneak out, what are we doing tonight?” You asked, still wrapped up in his arms.
“I know that you like looking at the stars, I thought we could have a rooftop picnic, watch the sunset, and then look at the stars a little bit before I bring you back home.”
“Sounds perfect to me.” You replied, still with your normal shy tone, placing your head on his chest. Walking to Oya High had your nerves up a little bit, but you knew that if there was any trouble, Tsuji would take care of it. He protected you like Hyuga, though it was in a romantic way rather than a brotherly way. Thankfully, there was no trouble, and you two made it to Oya in no time.
Arriving at the school, and ascending to the roof, the picnic was already set up, and beautiful was an understatement. Who knew that Todoroki and Shibaman would be able to set up something like this?
The night was perfect. A beautiful picnic, with the man you fell in love with. Nothing could make the night better. It was a date that you have dreamt about before, though you never thought that it would come true. Tsuji always somehow made things that seemed impossible to you, possible, like tonight.
*Knock knock* “Hey, y/n, i saved you some food, it's not good to skip meals.” The silence that Hyuga was greeted with was unsettling to him. He knows that you are usually quiet, but not responding at all was not like you.
“Y/n? Did you fall asleep again doing your homework?” Silence again. Hyuga’s nerves begin to increase, though he keeps calm. The two of you came up with a knock pattern that you always answer to, so he does that. Still no response. He gets a really bad feeling, though he feels bad for entering your room without permission, he cant help himself. Thoughts of something bad happening to you start to flow through his mind. When he opens the door and finds your bedroom window open, and an empty room, he is sent into full search mode.
He runs around the house frantically, checking all of the places that you could possibly be, while everyone watches him concerned and confused. Hyuga was too preoccupied with trying to find you, he forgot to mention that your room was empty when he went to take dinner to you. As soon as the rest of Daruma is told about the situation, the car engines are reving, and the gang is on the hunt for you. Checking all over the town without any luck. They decided to spread more throughout the city. There was zero conversation, as everyone was too deep into their thoughts, hoping and praying that you are okay. That nothing bad has happened to you.
As the Daruma Family travels further into Oya territory, they decide to pass by Oya High. To their surprise, there were lights on and went running into the building. Looking through every single room, they made their way through the building. The last place for them to look was the roof. Everyone knows that the roof of the school is a popular hangout spot for the students. It also happened to be the only place that they hadn’t checked.
“What the hell is this?!” An angry voice erupted behind you and scared you, practically making you jump out of your skin. No doubt, it was Hyuga. Before you could even answer, Hyuga had Tsuji by the collar, pinned against the wall. “Who do you think you are taking my sister? What is all of this?” Fury emerged from Hyuga, though he didn't try to hit Tsuji, only because you were there.
“Put him down, Hyuga!” Your shout surprised everyone, and the area fell silent. Nobody has ever heard you raise your voice, and nobody thought you would ever yell at Hyuga like that. Even Tsuji was shocked at the loudness of your voice.
“What are you doing here? We have been looking everywhere for you!” Hyuga yells back.
“What does it look like? This is a date! A date that you just ruined!” Anger becomes very prominent with each word you release.
“I lied. I didn't have homework, I snuck out, I met up with my boyfriend, and he brought me on this really nice date. I’m sorry I lied, but I deserve to have something like this that makes me happy! I've always done everything you have ever wanted. I've never gone anywhere alone! I've never had anything like this! If you think I am gonna sit here silently and let you take away something that has made me happier than I’ve ever been, then you may have taken one too many punches to the head. I don't care what you think. I don't care if you don’t like it, but I am not letting you take him away. Not when he makes me happier than I’ve ever been!”
Silence. Everyone is shocked, including you now. You have never imagined that you would talk to your older brother this way. Honestly, he scared you. He’s one of the best fighters in the SWORD district. People know not to mess with him, especially you. You know that he wont do anything to you, but you didn’t want him to hurt Tsuji. Hyuga looked at you with wide eyes. You couldn’t tell if he was angry or confused. Probably both. Tension building every second that there is silence, nobody knows what to do. Nobody has ever seen you stand your ground like this. Honestly, they were all very impressed that you stood up for the poor guy. That you stood up for your happiness. Even Hyuga is impressed. Regardless, he turns back to Tsuji and pins him back to the wall. After what seems like hours of silence, Hyuga has collected his thoughts.
“If anything bad happens to her. If you don't protect her, or if you hurt her yourself, you will be dealing with me. You will be coming to the Daruma house tomorrow and we will be having a discussion. End of story.” Hyuga lets him go and turns to you.
“You and I will talk about this sneaking out. I can support you being in a relationship, but I will not support lying and sneaking away. Finish your date. Have him walk you home, and we will talk tomorrow.” Hyuga leaves without another word. Shocked, the others follow behind him, and you run over to Tsuji.
“Are you okay?” You asked, worry taking over your voice. Without a word, Tsuji pulls you into a tight hug, and just holds you in silence for a few moments.
“Thank you, y/n, I really thought he was going to kick my ass.” He says with a chuckle, making you laugh with him. After a few more moments of holding you, he pulls away, looking deeply into your eyes. You try to look away, returning to your normal shy self, but he gently grabs your chin, turning your head back to look into his eyes.
“I love you.” He says so calmly, though he is freaking out on the inside, even more so when it takes you a minute to reply.
“I love you too!” You said with the biggest smile, as you wrap your arms around his neck. He holds you there, in the most loving embrace, as if it's just the two of you in the world. Releasing you from the hug, he looks deeply into your eyes, love and admiration pouring from his soul into yours, and pulls you into the most passionate kiss. Time stops, the world is calm, and there is nothing that could break the two of you apart. Not a single care in the world, other than the two of you in this moment.
“I should probably get you home soon, its getting rather late, and I dont want to give Hyuga the chance to beat me up.” Tsuji says with a chuckle. Walking home the two of you enjoy each others presence, not really talking, just enjoying being together. When you finally arrive at the Daruma house, he leaves you with a kiss.
“Ill see you tomorrow, please let me know when you get home.” You say to him, as you lay your head on his chest, taking in the last of his warmth for the night.
“I will, my love. Sleep well. Wish me luck tomorrow with your brother.” The two of you giggling together, as he holds you for a few moments longer, before heading home. Reaching the gate, he turns around and flashes you a heartwarming smile, before turning the corner out of sight, leaving you with butterflies in your stomach, and a smile on your face.
