A couple of years ago I went to a garage sale. It was a nice garage sale, probably the nicest one I ever went to in Clovis. They had sari and several obi but none were as nice as this one. I’m not really sure what the original owners were trying to do - it is clear that it was a display piece, but it wasn’t a very pretty display (in my opinion). So I got the obi and discovered that none of it was cut off. Finally, I got around to take it apart and see what’s going on. I decided that tsuke obi was the best thing for it - the obi turned out to be two sided, but the “main” side was faded. I cut it up and made a tsuke obi out of the non-faded side. I think it turned out really well! Plus, it’s all-season too! #strawberrykimono #strawberrykimonosews #obi #vintageobi #tsukeobi #nagoyaobi
