terushima asking tsukishima on a date scenario?
This ended up coming out a little differently im sorry! instead of a date scenario, it’s more of a “being asked on a date” scenario. I hope this was okay.
Terushima was finding it harder and harder to crack Tsukishima’s shell with every passing day. He’s taken it upon himself to show up in person, and try his best to find out more and more about him, but Tsukishima has made it abundantly clear he’s uninterested.
He’s here again, though, waiting at the gate of Karasuno for Tsukishima to exit. He all but ignores the few students who try to talk to him, keeping his eye out for a blonde head sticking out among the students. After a while though, Terushima realizes he’s probably in practice and sighs. He could have very well asked a student for directions, or to give him a message, but knowing Tsukishima he would have gone out of his way to make sure Teru knew he was avoiding him.
If there’s one thing Terushima is though, it’s persistent. Despite being annoyed with himself, he takes a seat on the ground outside the gate and gets ready for a wait.
He’s nearly dozing off when he finally hears footsteps and excited chatter leading towards him. He stands and brushes the seat of his pants off, smoothing down his clothes and looks for Tsukishima.
“Oh, hello.” The captain is the first to notice him. He remembers him well enough, he didn’t stand out too much but he was definitely a solid foundation for the team, and Terushima can respect that.
“Ah, hey.”
“Um… Do you need anything?”
“I’m actually looking for Tsukishima?”
By now, they’ve attracted the eyes of a few other members, but Terushima doesn’t shirk under their gaze. Daichi gives a curious, almost disbelieving look to him and looks towards the vice captain- Terushima can’t remember his name- like he would have an answer. The vice captain shrugs, but steps up next to Daichi.
“He’s still packing up, but he should be out here soon if you’re willing to wait a few more minutes.”
“That’s fine!” Terushima brightens, finally some good news, “I’ve been waiting since school let out, a few more minutes won’t be a big deal.”
He hears a scoff from the back of the pack and hears the bald one whisper to the libero “He a stalker or something?” The guy with neat black hair smacked the back of his head.
“Right…” the vice captain cracks a smirk and pats his back before walking on ahead, Daichi and the rest of the team in tow. “Good luck!”
Teru thinks maybe the vice captain is too intuitive for his own good.
After a few more minutes, Tsukishima stalks out, looking at his phone with the freckled one who hangs around him a lot. He sees Teru first, and says something to Tsukishima, jogging up to him and patting him on his back.
“Good luck with that.” He gives Terushima a knowing smirk and jogs off again. What is it with the people on this team and knowing everything about everyone.
“Tsukishima!” Terushima sings his name out, and Tsukishima rolls his eyes, groaning.
“You again.” He stops just before the gate, keeping a fair distance between himself and Terushima.
“Me again!” Terushima takes it upon himself to lighten the gap between them. “I waited for you.”
“I figured.” Tsukishima starts walking, Terushima following closely behind to catch up with Tsukishima’s long strides.
“Hey, you should go out with me.”
“And why should I do that?”
“Because I really like you! Come on, I’ll go along with whatever you want.”
“Hard pass.”
Terushima feels discouraged, but was never one to give up, instead he was getting quite desperate and frantic. “Come on, tell me what I’m doing wrong or something? I’m- this is the first time I’ve ever liked someone so seriously. I know I’ve got this air of “pretty badboy” around me”- Tsukishima snorts, “But I’m really serious about you, what do i need to do to get you to even consider going out with me, even for a little while?”
Tsukishima stops, sighing. “Maybe start with my number.”
“Your number?”
“Ask for it?” Tsukishima says it like it should’ve been the most obvious thing in the world.
“Um... Could I get your number?”
Tsukishima takes the phone out of his hand and puts his number in, handing it back to a very confused looking Terushima.
“You can text me. But not too often. I’ll block you.”
“Oh, o-okay...” Terushima looks at thenumber saved in his phone.
“And you said you’d go a long with whatever I want?”
He nods.
“Then be ready on Saturday to pick me up, I’m not going to go easy on you.”
Terushima brightens, perking up and immediately skipping along next to Tsukishima’s pace as he starts walking again. “Yes, Tsukki!”
“Don’t call me that.”
