It’s Father’s Day in the states so shoutout to all the good dads, great dads and dads that did their best in the Inuyasha franchise.

All of these guys did the best they could for their kids and we love them for it.

I just read that new Sumisawa interview, and I can't. He tried to excuse Sesshomaru for being such a bad father by saying that demons only raise the strongest children. Like, WTF? This man never watched Inuyasha, because in the OG series there are many examples of demon parents raising their children without making them go through some rite of strength.

We have Kanta's father teaching him how to fish, taking care of him, saving him when he falls into the water and gently drying him with a towel while giving him advice and being an excellent father.

And what about Shippo and his father? Shippo's father was raising him very well and he was only absent from his son's life when he died.

And then we have Shiori's father. Please do not tell me that this man was not going to be present in the life of his daughter. Sumisawa wants me to believe that Tsukuyomaru was going to abandon her daughter until she became strong? please. He would have loved to be able to raise her, the only thing that stopped him from it was his death.

Inu no Taisho who, even being about to die, was doing his job as a father talking to his son and trying to guide him. Sumisawa is telling me that Toga didn't do his best to teach Sesshomaru and raise him in the best possible way?

This Toga who died saving his family? really? Because I'm sure he would have been immensely happy raising his son.

Even in the fourth movie we can see demon parents taking care of their children:

Sesshomaru himself protecting, caring for and being a parent figure to Rin and Kohaku, even though they are not his biological children. Sesshomaru was being a better father figure to those two children than Pedomaru is to his own biological daughters and one of the reasons is that they never understood his character (nor the demonic father figures in Inuyasha).

Don't tell me demons don't raise their children. Don't tell me they only raise the strongest children, because that is not true.They should at least have the decency to clarify that something like that only happens in the shi**y fanfic they created called Yashahime.

Tsukuyomaru and Shizu Are the Best

I revisited Shiori’s brief arc in InuYasha since she is coming back in Yashahime, and Tsukuyomaru and Shizu are two of the best parents in InuYasha! I mean Tsukuyomaru genuinely loved his wife and daughter; so much so that he died protecting them. And Shizu fought and fought to protect Shiori from her horrid grandfather and the humans who hurt them. Honestly one of my favorite arcs in the show!

I really feel like Tsukuyomaru deserves more love. I mean honestly, he seemed like such a nice guy! I suppose it all comes from having only showed up in two episodes.
