summary: “I can think of a lot of words, but uncool isn’t one of them!” Some part of Kei hasn’t let these words slip away, most likely curiosity. A lot of words—but what are they?

Yamaguchi is wearing socks with sharks on them. Kei knows this because he’s staring at Yamaguchi’s feet—not for any particular reason, besides that they’re almost all Kei can see of Yamaguchi with his given position. He’s lying on his back on the floor with his thighs pressed to the side of Kei’s bed, legs bent at the knee and the heels of his feet creating divots in Kei’s dark blue covers, just centimeters away from Kei’s calf. Kei wonders what Yamaguchi is thinking.
After leaning slightly over, Kei sees Yamaguchi on the floor, holding his phone a bit above his face and scrolling absentmindedly. His hair splays against the floor, and when he notices Kei is looking, he sets his phone against his chest and tilts his head to the side.

Yamaguchi is high. Well—maybe that’s an unfair way to put it. Kei rephrases: Yamaguchi is bawling in the back seat of Kei’s mother’s car.
“Tsukki,” he sobs, though the gauze in his mouth distorts his speech. “Stop the car.”
Kei looks pointedly at his mother, and she shakes her head. “I’m not stopping,” she says.
When Kei leans back to look at Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi reaches to seize Kei’s shoulder, his seat belt pulling taut. “Please stop the car,” he pleads, and then sniffs. Drool drips from his mouth and down his chin, and Kei grimaces.

several billion golden years ago i lost a planet that i loved to the cold civilization blooms and then it erodes and that’s it —ancient mars, the zolas
Karasuno hasn’t changed much in the five years since Kei’s last been here.
The roads are the same, the trees are the same, Kei’s neighbors are the same. Everything’s achingly familiar, and yet, a feeling Kei can’t pinpoint washes over him as he walks the route from the train station to his old house, one which he had ingrained into his memory when he was in high school.

summary: Ice skating is harder than it looks, and Tsukishima learns so the hard way. (Tadashi can’t help but think it’s kind of cute.)

a/n: this was written as part of the tsukyam exchange! i really had a lot of fun writing this and i hope that you will enjoy !! the title is from blaise cendrars’s poem, “amolli”
“Tsukki, Tsukki,” Tadashi singsongs, draping himself over Tsukishima’s lap as they sit together on his bed. His stomach presses into Tsukishima’s thighs. “Let’s go ice skating,” he says, propping himself up on his elbows.
“Hm,” Tsukishima hums, seemingly contemplating. His eyes flicker away from the screen of his phone and down to Tadashi in his lap. “I’m almost compelled to say yes just because this is the third time you’ve suggested it. But, no.” He flicks Tadashi’s flyaway hairs for emphasis.
Tadashi scowls in response, defensively cupping a hand over the hairs and flipping over on Tsukishima’s lap, scooting back a touch so that he sits next to Tsukishima with his thighs resting over the other boy’s. “Why not?” he asks, reaching up with his free hand and poking the tip of Tsukishima’s nose.
Tsukishima swats Tadashi’s hand away. “Because.”
