i remembered when i was going through the danganronpa another series for the first time i kind of shipped tsurugi kinjo and rei mekaru. but as the translations of the games came out it became apparent they fucking hate each other’s guts. like for 80% of dra tsurugi was THIS close to letting rei get curb stomped by monokuma and in 90% of sdra2 chapter 6 it was the other way around but rei wanted to curb stomp tsurugi on her own. but they still care about each other’s well being in a “no one is allowed to curb stomp them but me” kind of way and especially in sdra2 they worked REALLY well as a team.
anyway even though they fucking hate each other and i love that dynamic i still was enamored by a potential romance between them for some reason. like i never want them to be, like, actually pleasant towards each other but i also didn’t want them to like. never want anything to do with each other. and im going through the series again and i was confused on what i wanted their dynamic to be before i realized:
kismessitude. i want them to be kismesis. theyre the m/f pitch version of holt and kevin from brooklyn 99 bc they both have a yardstick up their ass and also bc tsurugi is a cop and rei is a uni professor. theyre holt and kevin but they hate each other (affectionate) and are also assholes.
