TSUS Day 4- Intruloceit

Janus and Remus take care of their boyfriend.

Logan stood in the middle of the living room like a trapped animal. Before him, Janus and Remus stood side-by-side in identical stances.

“You truly don’t have to do this,” Logan said.

“Wanna bet?” Remus replied. Janus nodded, fingers twitching in a loose fist at his side.

“Very well,” Logan said, and took off running.

He got about six feet away before he promptly lost his balance, slipped on the hardwood, and fell face first into the couch.

“Oh, good,” Janus said. He moved over to the couch and swiftly sat on Logan's legs to keep his boyfriend from escaping. "I was worried I'd have to wrestle you down myself."

"I'll get the stuff," Remus said as he slipped out of the room, but Logan didn’t respond in favor of wriggling weakly under Janus’ weight.

“I’m not going to do it,” he hissed.

“Stop fighting,” Janus replied in favor of acknowledging his boyfriend’s uncharacteristic hostility. “You haven’t eaten all day, and you’re sweating again.”

Logan sighed in aggravation and dropped his face into the pillow. “I ate breakfast.”

Janus raised an eyebrow. “Correction: you haven’t eaten all day without throwing up immediately after.”

More grumbled protests came from the pillow as Remus walked back into the room.

“Flip him,” he told Janus, all business. In one swift motion Janus was off Logan’s legs, flipping him onto his back, and straddling his shins once again. For once, Logan didn’t protest; his face was covered in a thin sheen of sweat, and he reached up to rub his temples at the sudden movement.

Remus’ eyes softened as he knelt by Logan’s head. “Sorry, smexy, but you gotta take your medicine.” He gestured to the bottle in his hand. “We can do it quick.”

Logan glowered up at him. “Don’t talk to me like I’m a child.”

“Don’t act like a child then, darling,” Janus snapped back. He would’ve said something else incredibly witty about how difficult Logan was when he was sick, but his words died on his tongue when Logan seemed to wilt as Remus poured the sickly pink liquid into the medicine cap.

Janus made a distressed noise in the back of his throat. So did Remus, who set the medicine back onto the coffee table in order to gently smush Logan’s cheeks.

“I promise, promise, promise, I will do unspeakable things to you as a reward for taking your medicine,” he swore over his boyfriend’s smushed face.

“I absolutely won’t do any of that, but you still need to take it,” Janus said lovingly, grabbing Logan’s clammy hands and squeezing them. Logan sighed, exhausted and anxious and so in love he couldn’t breathe. (His lack of breath was probably due to the rather intense congestion he was feeling right now, but his boyfriends always brought out the hopeless romantic in him.)

“I’ll take the goddamn medicine,” he muttered through his smushed mouth. Remus smiled brightly and dropped a kiss on his boyfriend’s head, while Janus leaned down to peck kisses along the backs of Logan’s hands.

“Our sweet, sweaty sweetie,” Remus cooed. 

“So brave for drinking the big, bad, children’s flu medicine,” Janus continued.

Logan sighed. “Stop bullying me and give me sick day couch cuddles.”

His boyfriends didn’t stop teasing him, because of course they didn’t, but when the two of them were sick and ailing a few days later, Logan was more than happy to return the favor.

TSUS Day 6 - Anxceitmus

This person is doing a really cool challenge! And while I don’t think I will partake in all days I couldn’t help and do today. Although, a fair warning the plot is really hushed (like with all this TSUS).

Also the prompt: A and B are in a relationship together when they meet C. Sometimes they knew c before that, it doesn’t matter. What is important for this dynamic is, that usually both A and B are scared when they feel attracted to another person than their partner. This dynamic often contains angst, sometimes A and b break up because they think the reason for the attraction is that they weren’t really in love with their partner. If you’re going to write something like this, keep in mind that it might be a good idea to make C confess to both of them at the same time and/ or being open about them being poly. Remus and Virgil, when they first started dating no one, literally no one expected that but with the days they all could see how hopeless in love they were with each other. They were good for each other and no one doubted that.

If Virgil was having a panic attack? Just let Remus make it better, he would do small breathing exercises and then go to the Imagination in his castle, where they would end up cuddling and watching a marathon of cheap horror movies and make fun of it.

If Remus's thoughts started to get louder? You bet that Virgil will carry him outside of where the sides lived and just stay outside, in the woods, doing a small camp. They would end up throwing knives and shurikens in trees, play tag in their fancy way, Virgil's handicap would be he wasn't allowed to use his spider-sense. But Remus won't cheat by going underwater.

An odd couple, sometimes chaotic, but they were in love, and sure they were also horny as hell, after all, Remus kinks list was a book itself and Virgil didn't mind at all in complying with it if it means that his boyfriend would be happy.

Yet as time passes they end up with a problem, both started to pay attention to a certain side. Although don't get them wrong, they did love each other is just... They felt like it missed something, someone.

Sometimes it would feel better for Virgil if someone else was there to stop Remus from eating pancakes with dish soup. As well sometimes it would feel better for Remus if someone else could explain to him why Virgil's panic attack wasn't subduing. Or why Virgil didn't want to be touched?

The green creativity needed the touches and was the only way that he knew how to calm Anxiety. Touch, holding, and then doing the breathing exercise. So, when they both found out that they loved Janus was really off for them.

"Wait... What?" Virgil looked confused at his boyfriend when they confessed at the same time. "That is weird."

"I know!" Remus sighs as he looks at the purple side. "I just... Love him, and love you."

"Hm... So... Maybe we are poly?" Virgil tried it as he looks at the ceiling.

"I don't know. Virge... I just. Don't want to break with you."  Remus confessed as he will look at his boyfriend.

"This is just..." Virgil didn't know what to say exactly as he looks back at Remus and so going to him, holding his hands gentle. "How about we take the time to think about it? Not break up just, take some time. Maybe try to pass more time with Janus and see how things go?"

The dark creativity didn't like it, but he supposed they didn't have a better idea right now as he nods. "Fine... But please look for help if you panic?"

"Sure, I will." Anxiety tried to relax his shoulders as he kisses his boyfriend for the last time.

For the next week, it was odd in the mind space. Everyone started to worry, as they could see that both Remus and Virgil were just miserable, yet when asked both just denied or didn't talked.

Janus could sense the lie, between the line of: "I'm fine" or "We didn't break up" or even the "Nothing is wrong". It was just off, what was also off was the number of times that Virgil had a panic attack and he was the side chosen to help.

"Hey, look at me." Deceit said for what seems the tenth time this day. "In for four, 2, 3, 4, hold for seven, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, out for eight, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Good, you're doing great. Again."

After a month, that was just in the ridiculous point, Janus would need to keep his eyes on both. If he wasn't in one room, he was in the other room. Remus often had a self-harm episode or Virgil had a hallucination as he was so freaking out. It was in one of the hallucinations episodes that Janus finally got his answer.

"Why the fuck are you two like that?!" Deceit was tired, he hasn't been able to really rest, he was sick worried about the two sides, and wasn't just because of his trait as self-preservation, was also because he was mad in love with them, but he always felt like he shouldn't meddle in their love.

Virgil was tired as his head was buried in Janus's neck, murmuring a. "Because... We can't figure out..."

"Exactly?" The yellow side was now caressing the purple side's head, to ground him.

"We both fell in love with you... But that was weird because we were in love with each other... So... We thought that maybe we weren't in love with each other and decided to take a break? And try to pass more time with you to figure out..." Virgil's voice was almost dead as he was slowly sleeping.

Janus was shocked as he looks at the ceiling, that was all happening because of him?! How these two morons couldn't notice the simple solution for that? Although he should be fair to himself, he never tried to show interest in them, he was good at lying to himself after all.

A sigh as he realizes that this chaos could have ended up way early if Janus stopped just lying to himself. He ended up staying the night in Virgil's room, holding him and keep him calm enough.

On the next morning though, Janus didn't waste time as he would grab Virgil's hand and pull him out to Remus's room, knocking on it till the other side opens up.

"J-Anus! Virgin, what a delight to see you here." Remus was weirder, his room lost a lot of the mess and chaos, also dirty and trash that always was there, he himself was a mess.

"Shut up." Janus finally sighed as he will push Remus back to the room and then get inside with Virgil, making both sit down on the bed and close the door.

Virgil and Remus didn't look at each other as they still didn't get an answer about their feelings so right now that was just... Uncomfortable.

Janus took a deep breath as he looks at them. "You two are just idiots you know that?" Deceit could see how surprised and confused they were by his declaration. "I love you both, sure I'm more idiot for not confess before but I didn't want to this happen." As he points for them.

Remus looked worse than he had in years, and sure he was weird, but right now he just looked sad and broken. Virgil looked like a zombie as he wasn't able to properly sleep at that time, so he was half functioning.

"You know, we could be in a poly relationship. You two didn't need to have this time and be like that if you two just asked me before!" Janus was pissed at that, at least they had the decency to look embarrassed at that. "So here is what we are going to do, Remus will do his bed bigger enough to have us three comfortable, with enough blankets for being a sauna. We are going to sleep all cuddle. And later, when we wake up. We will talk more about this. Are we clear?"

Virgil and Remus looked confused at each other, but they ended up smiling because that was exactly what was missing. As they ended up doing exactly that.

Sure, Virgil and Remus were good for each other, but with Janus, they got perfect.

Janus was the third person to understand Virgil's need during some of the panics' day and stop Remus from triggering him more. Janus was also the person to help stop Remus from eating something too disturbing.

But more important, Virgil and Remus were the ones to give all the love and attention that Janus deserved, never letting him alone, give him all the warmth and caress the snake-like needed.

No relationship was perfect, but that one was enough to be a good balance and healthy.

TSUS challenge Day 1

“Hey, Virgey, you busy?”

Virgil made a noncommittal noise, not looking up from their phone.

Remus frowned, leaning closer. “Hey, skulky, can you hear me?”

“Go away, Rei, I'm busy.”

“Busy doing what, watching porn?” Remus leans over Virgil’s shoulder to look at their phone screen, only for the other to clutch the phone to their chest and push Remus away.

Remus grinned, leaning back in. “I saw words, you’re reading it? Who knew you could be nerdy and horny at the same time.”

“I wasn’t reading anything bad!” Virgil hissed, pulling their headphones off and glaring at their roommate. “What do you want?”

“J-anus is out with his partner tonight.”

“Yeah, any what about it?”

“That means we’re unsupervised, Vee.”

They shot him a nervous look. “What are you planning?”

Remus pouted. “It’s nothing bad!” He slipped into a gollum voice. “We swears it, my precious.“

“Ew, don’t do that, it’s creepy!”

He snickered, holding his hand out for the other. “I won’t do it again… if you agree to have some fun with me tonight.”

Virgil frowned up at Remus, hesitating, before putting their hand in their roommate’s and letting him pull them to their feet.

“Where did you get all this stuff?”

Remus shrugged, tossing Virgil a packet of twizzlers. “So are you in more of a vodka mood or a wine mood? Because I think Janus left some decent stuff in the back of the fridge.”

“Um… are you sure that’s a good idea?”

He waved the question away, pulling out a bottle of liquor. “C’mon, I know you don’t work tomorrow, and Dee Dee won’t be home tonight, he and his cute piece of ass are gonna be fucking tonight, I guarantee you.”

Virgil bit their lip, then shrugged. “Sure, okay. Wine sounds good.”

Remus pulled a mostly-full bottle of red wine out of the fridge, grabbing the bag of candy he’d left on the counter.

“I’ll grab some glasses,” Virgil volunteered, opening the cabinets.

“Alright, meet me in the living room!”

Remus skipped into the other room, dumping the stuff he’d brought onto the couch and plopping himself in front of the CD player. “Are you alright with watching one of the amateur horror films the underclassmen asked me to look over?”

“Are you sure you can give any sort of good advice when you’re getting drunk?” Virgil asked, trailing into the living room.

“Yeah, I normally am when I look these over. Being drunk off my ass is the best way to watch these fuckers.”

They shrugged, dropping onto the couch. “Sure, then. You’re the film major here.”

They watched the hour-long project, shooting little comments and jokes back and forth about whether the blood splatter was realistic, or the lore was historically accurate, before it came to an end.

“It wasn’t as shitty as most first projects I’ve seen,” Remus mentioned, popping the disk out of the CD player. “You can actually tell what’s going on! Which is a fucking miracle.”

Virgil let out a small laugh. “Yeah, you’ve probably seen your fair share of shitty films, yeah? So what next?”

“Would it be cliche to say truth or dare? Because I’ve been saving up some good ideas for dates.”

“Yes, it would absolutely be cliche of you, how dare you suggest something after an entire hour of shitty horror cliches,” Virgil deadpanned, smirking at Remus and sipping at his glass. “I know better than to take one of your dares, and I am definitely not drunk enough to forget that yet. Truth.”

Remus pouted. “That’s no fun, you’re so boring. Do you think I could pull off a skirt?”

“Hell yes. Truth or dare?”

“Dare.”

Virgil made a big show of tapping their chin and humming to themself. “I dare you… to… sneak into Jan’s room and steal some of his good dark chocolate for me.”

“Have a bobby pin I can borrow?” Remus asked, springing to his feet.

They nodded, passing him one of the Bobby pins they kept on their hoodie pocket—just in case—and Remus had the lock picked and a few pieces of chocolate tossed straight into Virgil’s face in a matter of minutes.

“It’s your turn, Virgin,” Remus sung, grinning in anticipation.

They rolled their eyes. “Truth.”

“Remember that party back in Highschool? Back when you were dating that Logan guy? You disappeared pretty fast, did you guys—“

“No, no! Dare!” Virgil screeched, cheeks burning.

“Oh, well if you insist—“

“Just give me the dare, Rei.”

Remus grinned. “How does chocolate, jalepeño, and ranch sound?”

Virgil made a gagging sound, but took another gulp of wine and strode into the kitchen. Remus trailed behind them, watching as they pulled one of the peppers, and the bottle of ranch in the door.

He watched with glee as his roommate squeezed a gold of ranch onto the pepper, swallowing before adding one of Remus’ peanut butter cups to the top.

Remus laughed as Virgil bit into it, visibly gagging. “Regretting that dare yet?”

“Oh shut it you—“ their words were cut off by another gagging noise.

“Okay, okay, but Jan is definitely the hottest one in our group, right?”

Virgil nodded solemnly, clutching at their empty glass. “You’re a solid second, though.”

Remus let out a loud laugh. “I’m sexy as hell, but nah, you’ve definitely got me beat there.”

“Shhh, your face is cute.”

“No, you.”

Virgil pouted, leaning against their roommate. “Well, I’m biased, but the whole reason I’m biased is because you’re cute.”

“Yeah, how’s that?”

They hiccuped, burying their face in Remus’ shoulder. “I only get crushes on cute guys, so you’re cute. That’s just… just facts, you know?”

Remus felt his heart jump in his chest, his face flushing. He was definitely too drunk to deal with this.

He opened his mouth, about to respond, when he heard Virgil’s soft snores, muffled against his shoulder.

That could be a problem for future him. Virgil had a good idea with the sleeping thing, Remus didn’t realize how tired he’d been until now.

He stood on unsteady feet, pulling Virgil off of the couch with him, and carried his roommate back to his bedroom.

Remus could figure out how to respond to his crush liking him back tomorrow.

A shower of sparks flew up into the air, and Roman felt a smile grow on his face. This was where he was meant to be, fighting on the battlefield, sparkles flying out of one hand and a sword in the other as he deflected arrows gracefully.

"Princey, stop thinking and fight!" A gruff voice called, and he flushed, ignoring the critiques that were hurled at his opponent. Another arrow flew at his face, glowing yellow, and he grinned, dodging it lazily. Too easy.

What he hadn't accounted for was the arrow following his movements, the blunt tip clipping his ear and making him wince. He whipped around to his opponent, eyes closed in discomfort, "I thought you didn't know magic! That's not fai-"

His remark was cut off when he was kicked in the chest, a small 'eep' escaping him when he fell backwards.

Janus stood over him, sheathing his bow and smirking down at him in a way that should have been illegal. He was still somehow completely neat and tidy, and Roman was suddenly so much more aware of his tousled hair, tangled sash, general dishevelled-ness and the blush that was probably on his face from both exertion and his current situation. He laughed nervously, fingers tracing a rune in the air discreetly as he tried to stall.

"So...lovely weather, isn't it?" The sky chose that moment to cloud over completely and Roman cursed it under his breath.

Janus looked at him with amusement, "Are you aware that you've lost?"

He was nearly done. Nearly. He just had to draw the same thing again and he would have it. "Well, I mean, that depends on how you look at it-" His voice sounded high pitched and strangled, even to him, and the deadpan look on Janus's face told him that he wasn't the only one hearing it.

"...Right. Well I'm sure that now you realise-" A loud bang cut him off, and he jumped off Roman, inspecting the ice fractals that were creeping up his leg in interest. "Oh? I see you've learnt a new spell, haven't you Princess?"

He bounced up, shaking off the nickname and raising his sword at him, "Yep! It's apparently called Frost Bind! Sounds a little obvious to me, but it's cool anyway."

"Just...wait for me to gain feeling and control of my leg again, please? Just to make this a fair fight." He sat down on the stone floor, looking up innocently at the blinking royal.

Pouting, he levelled his gaze at Janus, "Well, who am I supposed to fight then?"

Janus averted his gaze upwards, looking smug, and Roman tried to spin around in confusion, only to be met by a cold blade at his throat, an arm thrown around his shoulders and a breath at his ear. His breath hitched. Virgil.

"Awww, forgot about me already." They asked into Roman's ear, the sword going slightly lax when he let out a shuddering breath.

Gently, he zapped Virgil with a glyph, their grip on Roman weak enough for him to squirm out, pointing his sword at them with what was supposed to be a threatening look on his face. Judging by Virgil's, it wasn't very effective.

"Fie, villain! I won't let you win!" He was grinning now, caught up in the mayhem as their swords clashed, Roman adding non-lethal magic into the mix, being careful not to harm the non-witch too bad.

Which was his first mistake.

In a flurry of movement, they twisted his sword out of hands, the ruby studded blade clanging when it hit the ground. "Hey! That's my sword!"

They raised an eyebrow at him. "You're not completely defenceless, you have magic, remember?"

He blushed. He might have forgotten about that. Spell circles threaded through his grip as he flung ice spell after ice spell at them, but he knew he was losing. Every time Virgil swung their sword, he had to step back, his clothes gaining too many rips and tears in the process.  His mother was going to kill him.

So caught up in his thoughts, he didn't realise he couldn't back up any further until the cold wall hit his back. His ice spell shattered in his hands, showering both of them in a thin layer of snow and ice shards.

"Got yourself in a little predicament there, huh?" They smirked, sword again at Roman's throat and hand planted on the wall to keep them standing. Their face seemed to taunt Roman just by existing, and they were just standing there. Not saying anything anymore, not doing anything, just pressing the flat end of their blade against Roman's throat and boxing him against the wall in a way that was entirely unfair.

Their eyes were purple, he noted, purple and shining with happiness at getting to fight their loves. They were just...pretty. More than pretty- they were exquisite.

The sound of a spell being cast broke him out of his reverie, and he startled, looking over Virgil's shoulder (which was hard, seeing as the other was much taller than him even when not wearing his platform boots) at the caster. Janus was standing there, a faux-bored look pasted on his face and something wistful in his eyes. He had summoned Virgil's sword, which neither of them had noticed worming out of their grasp until it was too late.

The two at the wall exchanged glances before Virgil stepped back to let Roman move and they ran at Janus, smushing him from either side with a hug.

"Our sneaky snakey!"

"So cunning!"

"So smart!"

"Good snake!"

"Boop noodle!"

"Judgemental shoelace!"

He shoved them away, face flushed and glaring at their matching grins, badly stifling a laugh. "Alright, alright, I get it! You dorks, stop!"

Virgil rolled their eyes playfully, "Fine. Do you wanna go get ice cream or something?"

"Virgil, if we leave the grounds my parents will literally murder me in my sleep." Roman sighed, trying to hide his smile and look serious.

They grinned, the look in their eyes reassuring him that he didn't have to say yes, "Which makes it all the more fun!"

He looked at his two loves standing there, and against his better judgement, he nodded.

Fighting his loves was fun, even if he always lost.

Furry Friend

This was written for the Sanders Sides Unpopular Ships Challenge, Day Six: Anxceitmus!

Summary: Remus and Virgil have made a little friend. Now they have to convince their boyfriend Janus to let them keep it.

Word Count: 742

tw raccoons, alcohol

Janus knew that his boyfriends were up to something the moment they stepped into the apartment. He was in the bedroom enjoying a nice glass of wine when he heard the door slam shut followed by giggling. He put down his glass with a sigh and got up to see what his boyfriends had gotten up to this time. If it was just Remus, it could’ve been anything under the sun. But Janus was sure that Virgil was in there with their wildcard of a boyfriend as well. And while Virgil tried to stop Remus from his more dangerous exploits, once Remus managed to convince their anxious boyfriend into his schemes they tended to take everything to the extreme. So whatever they were giggling about right now could be something small like a dirty joke or something that he’ll need to hide the evidence of later.

He stepped into the living room, taking sight of his giggly boyfriends. They didn’t appear to be intoxicated, but they were peering into Virgil’s backpack as they laughed their heads off. “Would either of you mind explaining what’s going on here?” They both jumped, Remus shoving the bag behind them as they silently stared at Janus. They turned to each other and seemed to silently come to an agreement as they turned back to him.

Virgil fidgeted with the strings of his hoodie. “We didn’t do anything illegal.”

Janus frowned. “I didn’t ask you if you did anything illegal.”

Remus nodded. “Yes, but we wanted to clarify that this is perfectly legal!”

Janus sighed. “And ‘this’ is…?” He looked down at the bag and his eyes went wide as it started to squirm. “Is there something alive in that bag?” They both looked sheepish and he sighed. “You know we’re not allowed to have animals in the apartment.”

Remus shook his head. “We’re not allowed to have cats or dogs!”

Janus stared at him for a moment before turning to his other boyfriend. “What’s in the bag Virgil?”

The anxious man looked away guiltily before opening the bag, a small masked face peering out. “His name’s Thomas.”

Janus stared in disbelief. “That’s a raccoon.”

Remus nodded, bouncing on the tips of his toes. “It’s perfectly legal to own a raccoon here! And the ‘no pets’ rule doesn’t list raccoons as a pet!”

Virgil nodded, smiling down at the furry creature. “The lady who raised him passed away last week, and her daughter was selling him. He’s housetrained, and he really likes cuddles and crackers.”

Janus stared. “You know we can’t keep him.”

Remus huffed. “You said that the only reason we haven’t gotten a pet yet is that our apartment won’t let us, but they can’t argue with this because they didn’t specify! And even if they do, we’ve been wanting to move out for a while. And he’s so smart and polite! Please can we keep him?”

They both gave him their best puppy dog eyes, and Janus sighed, steeling himself to say his one-word answer. It would be difficult, but he was sure he was making the right decision, and he wasn’t going to change his answer.

Janus stepped through the door to his apartment, sighing and hanging his hat upon the coatrack. He staggered through the apartment, exhausted after a hard day at work. Virgil and Remus were still gone, and they wouldn’t get back until later tonight.

Janus stumbled past the kitchen and to their bedroom, ignoring the child-proof locks on the cabinets and the pattering across the tile. He collapsed onto the bed, ignoring the tiny scurrying until there were tiny paws resting on his chest.

Janus smiled softly at the familiar beady eyes. “Hello Thomas. No you’re not getting a cracker. Goodness knows you don’t need another.” The chunky raccoon continued to stare, letting out little sounds as it tilted its head. “No Thomas.”

The raccoon stared for a few more moments before scurrying off. Janus sighed, relaxing on the bed. A few minutes later, the scurrying noise returned, and Thomas was once again on Janus’ chest, this time wearing a familiar fedora.

Janus looked at the adorable raccoon wearing his hat and sighed, reaching for the locked bedside drawer. “Fine. You get one cracker. But don’t tell your Daddies. I don’t need them pestering me for going soft.” Thomas chirped and grabbed the offered cracker, snuggling into his owner’s side.

Janus smiled softly. This was the right decision indeed.
