Toby

Toby, is a tram engine, who works on Thomas' Branchline on the Island of Sodor, he works with his faithful tram coach and loving wife, Henrietta, and his boastful yet eager other tram coach, Hannah. He loved his life and wouldn't change it for anything else.

TOBY AND HENRIETTA

Totally didn't almost forget to post this. Since it's the 7th of July, you know what that means? It's 7/7, and thus TOBY DAY! For Toby Day, I wanted to focus not just on him, but also his wife Henrietta. I dunno, I just don't think you can really have one without the other.

Though the Thomas fandom can be strangely... adverse to shipping, we all seem to agree that Toby and Henrietta make a great couple. I adore them as husband and wife. The decision to really lean into that in Series 18 onwards was a brilliant idea.

do you know how sometimes ferrets will drag someone by the finger to show off their babies? i swear ive seen at least two ferrets do this (may or may not be to the same owner but i don't remember and don't have the clips on hand)...

anyway. i just imagined that but with emily doing that to toby. henrietta being shown the baby bugs could be very cute also but i think toby is more likely to be taken there first.

Funnily enough, I think Henrietta would actually be shown the Edmilylings first lol. Even though she wasn't as initially thrilled when the bug engines first moved on, she gradually warmed up to them and by the time Edward and Emily have their litter, she almost sees the bug engines as her own kids!

Henrietta and Toby have always wanted a big family, but unfortunately discovered fertility issues made that difficult. They knew they could adopt, but never got the chance because the tramway kept them so busy and they didn't have as much money, so they agreed that then wasn't the right time. But working on the main lines on Sodor helps a lot, and so does having all the bug engines!
