Shout out to this Ned promo art where his bucket is covering his face
Ned's camera shy come on.
Idk why but this moment is hilarious to me, specifically in the UK dub
[1966]
Donald had been tasked with transporting members of the Packard & Co fleet to a worksite.
“Hurry, Donald!” Urged Alfie.
“I’m goin’ as fast as I can!” Said Donald. “What’re ye lot gonnae be buildin’ there anyway?”
“Oh, we’re not going there to build,” Ned grinned, “we’re going to demolish!”
“Demolish…?” Donald asked.
“Demolish.” Confirmed Oliver, politely. “As in tearing down old buil-”
“I kin what demolish means.” The Scottish engine huffed. “I’m wonderin’ why ye lot sound so excited about it.”
“It’s great fun!” Alfie chimed in. “We-”
“We’re going to be taking down an old brickworks!” Ned cheered, unwittingly talking over little Alfie.
“I’ll be doing the ‘taking down’, Ned.” Oliver reminded. Even though Donald had his eyes on the tracks, even he knew Ned wasn’t listening.
“What fun it will be,” Ned smiled.
“Ye’re construction vehicles.” Donald said, plainly. “Why would construction vehicles be eager ta tear somethin’ down? I’ve only brought somethin’ down once, and when I did, I nearly got sent away.”
“You wouldn’t get it.” Said Ned, simply.
Remembering his own experience with the new signal box at Knapford, Donald had to agree that he wouldn’t.
So I’ve been thinking, how would you change Jack and the Pack to differentiate it enough from Bob the Builder for Hit execs to allow it to run as its own thing?
Jack and the Pack members in their animal forms
No concept art for now, just brainstorming what the pack would be as animals in my Thomas & Friends AU.
Jack - floppy-eared goat with front loader wheels on his legs
Nelson - Tuxedo Cat with ballast tractor wheels on his legs
Byron - Texas longhorn with bulldozer wheels (obviously)
Isobella - dairy sheep with steam lorry wheels on her legs
Kelly - Friesian Horse with crane wheels on his legs
Alfie - British Shorthair cat with excavator wheels on his legs
Ned - Gyspy Horse with steam shovel wheels on his legs
Patrick - St. Bernard with cement mixer wheels
Max and Monty - bulls with dump truck wheels on legs
Oliver - large billy goat with excavator wheels
Now, since they are construction vehicles, I'm thinking whether it's necessary to keep the mechanical parts on them as animals. Jack's horns could be implemented as his plow, f.e, so no parts necessary for him . . . . . . I'll think about it.
