hello again players of tothewater! the admins have been coming up with ideas and ensuring that our roleplay is as great as possible for our players! we have done this recently with our overhaul of sponsorship and funds, and we have had many ideas for the implementation of the games after the tributes are brought to the arena.
today, we would like to introduce an additional way for tribute players to interact with the arena during the Games: ttwarena
this is a new blog that we need you to follow here. the blog is a way for tributes to interact with the arena’s dangers, mutts, and specific regions, but through collaboration with us, the admins. any time after the start of the second day in the arena, a tribute character (and up to two in an alliance together) may either:
post a starter entering an area of the arena and tagging the account; or
message the account to set up an interaction
and the blog will reply, creating a new interaction with the tribute(s). this will work similarly to our caesar flickerman blog and your tribute interactions with him.
this is an option to help give players an element that the player cannot control and introduce elements of the arena that a player may feel are difficult to figure out. this will also give any lone-wolf tributes an opportunity for interactions beyond self-paras. any decisions on injuries or when the interaction ends will be up to the player. nothing will ever be done to the player by the blog. it will be up to the player to decide how they react to the situation we set up for you (though we encourage keeping it realistic to make things interesting and exciting!).
for example:
ttwarena: the black bear reared back on its hind legs, its paws hanging in the air above its head. its black eyes bore into Denise’s seeing only a thing to eat. without hesitation, it brings both paws down forcefully, a roar erupting out of its mouth.
denise: denise’s eyes widen at the sight of the creature, silently berating herself for awakening the creature. the world slows as the bear attacks her from above. she reacts quickly, rolling to the right, out of the way of the paws. but the one paw was too fast, and caught her side, dragging its claws through her skin. she screamed in pain. for a moment, she let the pain course through her, but then she drew her daggers and stabbed the bear right in the side. but, it was still alive.
your decisions are at the forefront with this new blog. nothing will be done without your say. however, the blog can throw curveballs and allow your tribute to react to new, frightening, and surprising situations!
if you have any questions about this new feature, please send us an ask or dm the blog and we will answer as much as we can. we are still figuring out how it will work, but we hope this will add to the experience here at tothewater.
