Before TB samples are investigated by the HeroRATs they are heat deactivated in a centrifuge to make them safe.
In addition to their adorable faces and love for bananas, peanuts, and strawberries, HeroRATS have super sniffer noses! They can sniff out sputum samples for tuberculosis at a rate of 100 samples per 20 minutes.This is more efficient than traditional methods and also far more effective-- truly life saving!
