So here’s a video I shot of the #Tuffeau soils here in #Vouvray. We’re at @vignoblealainrobertvouvray property. They’re expanding their cellars. We visited the deep caves underground (photos coming) but up here you get a better sense of the Friable character of this ancient form of chalky Limestone. Most buildings in Nantes and the surroundings have been build from the quarries that extracted blocks from these soils. Even nowadays old buildings that need to be repaired use it. These quarries became natural cellars with constant temperatures, ideal for storing wine. The top soil consists of clay, yet the Tuffeau goes deep l! #sommlife #keeponpouring @wsetglobal (at Chançay, Centre, France)
