Château de Jallanges

Château de Jallanges is located in Vernou-sur-Brenne, France. The castle was built in 1465 upon an earlier 13th century medieval fortress. King Louis XI had the home built for his prime minister. The residence was successively owned by Mayors of Tours, King’s Ministers, Queen Charlotte, Claude of France, various Treasurers, and more. The castle fell to ruin by the 20th century and was purchased by the Ferry-Balin family in 1984. The owners restored the castle to its former glory and opened it as a four-star hotel with facilities to accommodate weddings, banquets, workshops, and more. The Renaissance brick and stone building overlooks the Vouvray vineyards, 300-year-old cedar trees, formal gardens, a heated pool, tennis courts, and a 17th century chapel. The château has five individually furnished bedrooms overlooking the gardens with private baths and a reception hall that can accommodate 400 guests. The interior boasts an indoor pool in an 11th century cave. Château de Jallanges has a shop that sells jam and wine. Although there’s no restaurant on site, the hotel guests receive a buffet breakfast.
