Mayara Lima no desfile da escola Paraíso da Tuiuti, 2026, samba enredo "Lonã Ifá Lukumi"
Carnaval 2026: Paraíso do Tuiuti Primary samba school presented “Lonã Ifá Lukumí” recounting the historical, religious, and philosophical trajectory of the Ifá tradition, from West Africa, through the Caribbean (Cuba), to its arrival in Brazil. The samba is structured around ritual expressions in Yoruba, an African language preserved in Brazil mainly by African-based religions.

#carnaval #globo #golpe #riodejaneiro #tuiuti #paraisodotuiuti #Carnaval2018 #sapucai #foratemer #vampirãobrasileiro

Paraíso do Tuiuti Samba School Pays Homage to Trans People of Brazil This Carnaval
The samba school will tell the story of Xica Manincongo, considered to be the first non-indigenous transvestite in Brazil. Kidnapped from the Congo region, she was enslaved in Bahia, Brazil. Xica refused to use the masculine name that was imposed on her and she continued to dress in her feminine clothes, just like she did in Africa.
Paraíso do Tuiuti will make history in Sapucaí by presenting a comissão de frente made up exclusively of trans dancers. The choreography will be directed by Edifranc Alves, first soloist at the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro, and Claudia Mota, first ballerina at the same institution.
"Who's Afraid Of Xica Manincongo?" will be presented at Rio's Carnaval Parade, but the public rehearsals are already on the way.
