based in portland, oregon tula is a collaboration by artist/ jeweler josie hannah schmidt & metal smith jerry dale campbell. josie holds a b.a. in eastern religions from columbia university and a doctorate from the national college of naturopathic medicine. while earning her medical degree, she came to an appreciation of the various energetic and healing properties of rocks. honoring the integrity of the stones, josie believes that what a traditional gem cutter would consider a "flaw" often enhances the aesthetic and energetic properties of her stones.

LOVE POEM

Today at the train station,  two lovers said goodbye over their cellphones across the rails. He was going south, she north. And even for that moment when the train ripped the air between them a connection as good as technology can provide was had.
