Tulegur presents: Wind Dance
The intro it's perfect. Grunge and mongolian folk.
Carefree, funky and rockin', 'Wind Dance' is a song of celebration. Powerfully illustrating the signature blend of grunge and Mongolian folk that defines Tulegur, the song takes us to sundown on the grasslands when nomads toast the day’s wrangling with milk wine and dance, as free as wind.
Gangzi handles his love for this setting poignantly through syncopated guitar riffs and climactic chanting that move effortlessly along the bass and drums' driving groove.
One of the bands representing Mongolian culture abroad for many years, Tulegur are a tight formation combining traditional Mongolian singing such as humai (throat singing) with Rock foundations. Tulegur are unique in the frontman’s story as a Mongolian child brought up without knowing his own language. Only in adulthood was he able to reconnect with his roots and embrace the language of his forebears. He has since indefatigably represented them through the years with his shows defined by high energy and sincerity. They have played the biggest festivals in China and toured extensively internationally including festivals such as WOMAD 2016 and 2014 Helsinki Niubi Festival, cementing their status as a staple of the Mongolian Rock/Crosssover genre.
