The “Witch’s Promise” was released as a single in January of 1970. The B-Side was “Teacher”, which later appeared on the Warchild album. Witch’s Promise later found its way onto the “Living in The Past” album. One must give Ian Anderson credit for not being shy in front of the camera. His on-stage persona has always been captivating and a big part of the success of the band.

This week, 51 years ago, Jethro Tull began the “Thick as a Brick” tour, supporting the album that would hit #1 on the US charts. The album consists of only one song, (Parts 1 & 2, based on two sides of an album) was intended as a parody concept album. It became one of the foundations of their concerts to this day.

Rock Island (1989) was the 17th studio album by Jethro Tull. “Heavy Water” portrays Ian Anderson’s ongoing concern for air pollution and its effects on civilization. I especially like Martin’s recurring riff in this song, along with just a little bit of sexiness.
