A picture, flowers, and incense; that was all he needed.
After placing the last bouquet of flowers, he kneeled in front of the memorial and sighed, looking at the smiling picture of Itachi, a frown pulling at his lips.
“I’m sorry, niisan,” he said quietly, closing his eyes and looking away, “If…”
The words were lost, he was unable to get them out and formulate all his thoughts into coherent words. He wanted to apologize but didn’t know how to say it; years of hating Itachi made it difficult for him to utter such words, to admit he still loved Itachi, that he was still the big brother he had always known.

He looked up and opened his eyes, smiling gently.
