why is tumble tree not working?
this is a really neat bookmarklet for tumblr users! just scroll down to the button that says "Tumble tree" and add that link to your bookmarks. in some browsers, you can just drag and drop the button to your bookmarks, or just right-click and add it. in others, you may have to manually add it.
then, while on your dashboard or on a single post, open the bookmark and Tumble Tree will load. you can then use the buttons added to the header of each post on your dash to generate the tree, or if you're already on a single post, the tree will automatically be generated.
this is what it looks like:
OK, guys, Tumble Tree is fucking cool.
It shows how your post's reblogs spread throughout the tumblrverse. I can't believe I just used the word tumblrverse in a sentence. (Just pull the tab onto your bookmark toolbar and click it when you want to use it - no installation or anything.)
And the one for this post looks like a man.
This is really cool...
If you're at all interested in the marketing aspect of Tumblr, or just curious about the notes your post get, try this!!

o tumblr my tumblr
its so annoying when someone beats you to doing something and does it way better than you could have ever done
i decided to do an extended project and make like a web tool for visualising the path of tumblr posts through reblogs and the like, cos no one had done it
so i've been working on that for several weeks (i haven't got very far but that's not the point)
and i was asking for a bit of help on google groups and someone linked me to a thing that someone's recently made called tumble tree which does that. so now my project is pointless (well not pointless as the skills i'm learning are useful but still...)
anyway this was meant to be less of a moaning post and more of a 'look at this cool thing a person has made!' - because tumble tree does work very well - you just add a bookmark and it integrates itsef into your dash with a little icon on each post - and is also really useful for sorting all the notes on a post - if you wanted to read all the comments for example you can use it to filter. it's not perfect - it can't really deal with posts with over 5000 notes (mostly cos it has to send a ton of server requests to tumblr cos tumblr only likes to give you 50 at a time) but its pretty good. i know some of you are interested in this kinda thing!
this tumble tree shit is sooo cool, like i feel like i'm spreading a virus. like im part of something much bigger.
look i even have my own branch on posts
Pro tip: If you use the Tumble tree on a post that is continually growing as you view the tree, you can watch the tree as it grows.
