there’s 250 options so it’s hard to tell you how to get a specific option, BUT hopefully this helps!

- riolu trainers value fighting/steel rhetoric, such as being competitive, resolute, and determined. riolu trainers in particular are also loyal and easily moved to action, and have a preference for a cool sinnoh pokémon that isn’t too large.

- espurr trainers value psychic rhetoric, such as being intuitive, internal, and observant. espurr trainers in particular are also perceptive and temperamental, and have a preference for a clever kalos pokémon that is pretty small.

- vulpix trainers value fire rhetoric, such as being bold, passionate, and confident. vulpix trainers in particular are also more withdrawn and kind-hearted, and have a preference for a beautiful kanto pokémon that isn’t too large.

So we know how the ROs would react if the MC ran and jumped at them while they were holding coffee, and that the ROs would be reasonably upset over it (who wouldn't be?), but how would they react if the MC realized they were holding coffee and then stopped in their tracks and asked them to put the coffee down before running and jumping into their arms?

They’d appreciate the heads up about the coffee, but it’d probably play out in a similar way. And a few of them might joke that that was a very complicated way to get a hug lol.

How would the ROs react to an MC who hates being touched unless they a/ initiate the touch, or b) are waened/asked beforehand? I have ✨ trauma ✨ related to being ✨ forcibly held ✨ whenever I was ✨upset ✨ and then not released until I ✨ stopped outwardly expressing my upsetness ✨ but whenever I tell people not to touch me they shoot me this look like I'm being an asshole for establishing my boundaries. I know the ROs wouldn't be that type of person but! Sometimes the reassurance is nice 💜

All the ROs would respect a person’s boundaries and wouldn’t want to cause them discomfort or harm, but the MC isn’t written as someone who has a touch aversion, just to forewarn you. I don’t want you to be uncomfortable.

And this next part is to everyone who has sent in similar asks along this line:

I’ve gotten a lot of questions about MCs and having fears around being touched or intimacy or sex. Or not being interested in romance or sex at all. How you feel is 100% valid, but this game focuses quite a bit on the romance between the MC and the RO of their choice, and it includes kissing and physical touching at the very least, though sex can be turned down.

I’m still in the process of writing this game, so I can’t say for certain what will or won’t happen in every scene yet, but there will be instances of the ROs touching the MC to pull them out of the way of danger, for example. Or perhaps a comforting pat on the shoulder. And there will be kissing and touching each other in a romantic nature at the very least.

If any of that would make you uncomfortable or would be something you’re not interested in, I would rather you not play Twin Coves for your own well-being. I really do not want anyone to be uncomfortable or upset. There will be content warnings for the game, but perhaps wait until the game is out and have someone play it beforehand to make sure it’s safe for you or ask the community. There are many kind people here who will tell you if something that upsets you is in the game. This goes for anyone that has any kind of trigger. Please stay safe.

Also, the MC is a character in their own right. They have their own thoughts and feelings and personality, to a certain extent. They are not what I would call a “blank slate” character. You can decide their name, gender, pronouns and general appearance, but there are canon things about them that cannot be changed. You’ll get a feel for them in the demo, and if they’re not for you, that’s okay! That’s what the demo is for!

I really don't want to be that person, because I'm white, but if someone is asking how Japanese folklore is classified in terms of "supernatural creatures exist" lore........ maybe they ought to do their own research before making an OC that's a kitsune? Because I had a phase where I was fascinated with them and I scoured the Wikipedia and still don't feel confident enough in my knowledge to make a kitsune oc, but even before I did that I knew kitsune wouldn't fall into "Celtic faerie" territory. Because they already fell into "Japanese folklore" territory.

I think they were just asking in terms of how a kitsune would fit into the “world” that I’ve made for the game, like if I had a different explanation for them, but I don’t. Kitsune (and all yokai) are supernatural creatures in their own right-- their own “species” if you will in the TCU--just like fae, werewolves and vampires are their own thing.

I think white authors can write and create characters inspired by the folklore of other cultures--as long as they do their research first to make sure it is ok, and are respectful and perhaps have someone from that culture sensitivity read. I’m white and I have many characters that are supernatural creatures inspired by folklore that isn’t from my cultural heritage. Some of those characters are in this game.

But I would also advise anyone wanting to play in the TCU sandbox as it were to wait a bit to see what is and isn’t already canon. There are many more things in this game than I’ve explained or touched on. And it’s early days to start forming headcanons or expanding on my “universe” before I’ve had a chance for you all to actually experience the world of the game in full.

Okay so the ROs being jealous was already answered, this isn't about that. What about when they see the MC turning down someone flirting with them without the RO's interference? What I'm personally imagining is they're meeting up at a cafe or something, the RO walks in and sees someone flirting with MC, but before they can react at all the MC--texting or scrolling on the internet or something the whole time--tells the person that they don't have a phone. What would be the RO's reaction then?

(Of course the scenario doesn't have to be that exactly, I was just trying to convey the Vibes I was going for)

I’m assuming the flirter asks for the MC’s number in this scenario?

Azriel: is very smug about it

Eli: feels warm all over that MC shot them down so quickly

Cass: goes up to the MC and kisses them to rub it in the flirter’s face

Kai: he never doubted MC for a moment, but he’s still relieved

Lir: texts MC “do they need some aloe for that burn?”

Xander: chuckles to himself and goes over to MC to wrap an arm around them

Rook: won’t admit it, but he feels a little smug

Wren: he knows the MC loves him, but it’s still nice to be reminded. His heart swells.

Every time I remember that Azriel's club is called The Underground the first thought that comes ro me is the David Bowie song from the Labyrinth, and then the tik tok Undertale song that I've never heard the full way through. What would Azriel's reaction be should an MC tell him this?

I actually named Az’s Underground after the Underground in The Labyrinth movie lol. And Az probably leans into the David Bowie/Jareth comparison, so he’d be cool with it ;)
