Five Years

Ani posted a cute little sketch on a sweet post reminding us that it’s been five years and it got me thinking.

Five years ago I was horribly depressed, failing school, and having fights with friends that made it easy to isolate myself. I was lonely and looking for distractions.

I joined a Tumblr RP group as Rachel on a whim and I met some hilarious, witty, creative people that are as close to me as family. I don’t care if we haven’t talked recently- I love you all. You’re always welcome in my home, and I’m here for you if you need it.

I found the woman I was going to marry in that group. Sure, it’s weird that she played Tom, but it’s also hilarious. How many couples meet by roleplaying cousins? ;P Don’t answer that. She’s on her way up north right now and I should be reunited with her soon, and the tension and excitement is unbelievable. 

I just wanted to say thank you, to the friends I made, whether it was in those late night weird roleplay sessions, or if you wrote fanfic for our first big crossover ‘verse, or if you were pulled into our chat group without roleplaying yourself... you’re all amazing and special to me. I love you guys. The Tumblrmorphs are the best. <3 Thank you for being part of a turning point in my life, and helping motivate me to make it a good turn.

I’m sorry I don’t always reach out, and lapses in communication go for a while. Know that you’re in my heart no matter what. You’ve all been super important to me in one way or another and I hope we all keep learning and growing into new stages of our lives with joy and understanding. I love you all.

I was listening to Be More Chill because @krakendra rec’d it and Jeremy says the line “the only thing I’d date is my Mac Book Pro hard drive” and I said “It’s Zach,” to which she reminded me that he ends up dating a jock, Tom. Thus. This.

Little doodle because it's been five years (June 26, 2012, can you believe it) since I met the rest of the tumblrmorphs who would later become basically family. "We've known each other for five years" the complete sketch page. Feat the doodle posted earlier, Quirn and Silpar judging butts, Shy Zach in his boyfriend's jersey, and Uriel the Starbucks worker. Extra tidbits: 1) Ury lets Sara and Jordan paint his nails when he babysits 2) Ury keeps his hair long bc he knows it bothers Rachel that a) he won't cut it b) it actually looks really good on him 3) the thing on Ury's neck is supposed to be a dog paw print pendant locket from Erek. Inside is a picture of them on their first date. They're probably nearing their fourth year anniversary. 4) Zach made Ury get a job after a year of him being stuck as human 5) Ury graduated high school... Zach hasn't made him go to college though. May do more sketches later since Zach's birthday is coming up too 🤷🏽‍♀️
