In revelations that can only come from listening to video games music for too long:
The soundtrack to the NES game “S.C.A.T.” (yes, poor localization choice) has been stuck in my head recently. It’s got a neat set-up where the tone progression is the same, but the rhythm and length of the notes is different, resulting in different pieces with different genres. (Think like the White Stripes album “Get Behind Me, Satan.”)
There was a particular piece for Stage 3-3 that has a very unique twang note style. Like, I was asking myself, “Why does this sound like something from ‘The Adventures of Bayou Billy’?”
Turns out that both soundtracks indeed had the same composer. Dude was hopping between Konami and Natsume for a couple of years! Brain knew not, but ears did.
On a side note, “Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence” is one of my favorite (if not the most favorite) hymns. It’s one of those songs you whip out when you want to inflict a defense penalty in a 50 ft radius.
Sometimes, you just have to blast the soundtrack to “Ai Cho Aniki” until your anger disappears.

Terrahunt (cw: language) - A remix of FF6's theme for Terra using "Duck Hunt" samples and absurd vocals
One Winged Hutt - A mixed track containing FF7's "One Winged Angel", "Tecmo Bowl" sound effects, and a kicky little drum set
Wizards in my Armor (Warrior in my Longjohns) - Honestly, a sweet little song vaguely about the plot to the original "Wizards and Warriors" game
And, of fucking course:
Juese Belmont (cw: puerile heterosexuality) - A rap song about what the fuck the less important Belmonts get up to when they aren't punching Dracula in the face (i.e., crassly wooing ladies)
Thought I'd plug this particular OCRemix, since I recently beat "Wild ARMs." It has survived a journey across many computers...
