this evening's bop is courtesy once more of my infinite repeat playlist, and one of my fave OC Remixes from Voices of the Lifestream!
i really love the North Cave so basically any ocremix of it is bound to be one i love haha, but i really do adore this one! Darangen really gets the melancholy vibes of the original track, it's good shit
"Misdirection"
Remix of "Ancient Mystery" - Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2
OC Remix - Malcos
still dicking around on OCR and oh my GOD this is fucking nice holy shit!! i think ffvii is the game i have the most remixes from and for good reason ngl, there's just so many good ones!!
remixing "J-E-N-O-V-A", "Judgment Day", "Mako Reactor", "Mako Reactor 1", "Shinra Company", "Those Chosen by the Planet", absolutely delicious, thank you!!!
the bit around 4:08 is giving very big Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of War of the Worlds vibes 👁👄👁
listening to my local files and was completely taken aback by this OC Remix from the SeeDs of Pandora album - it starts off with the riff from the Sickness?! very cool actually!!!
True earporn from start to finish its also uncomfortable to know this is 21 years old now so theres that
heartwarming internet aecdote of the day:
a million years ago on overclocked remix, someone posted a really lovely piano arrangement of a piece from the original Fire Emblem game
and it sounded so epic to my adolescent ear that i dove into the forums to beg the arranger to send me the sheet music so i could learn to play it
they DID have the sheet music, and sent it my way, and i still have the janky little .tiff files today
tragically, i never learned to play more than a few pages of the piece. it gets... REALLY tricky near the end...
but when i was googling the other day, i found out (1) i'm not the only one who asked the guy for the sheet music, (2) there is ONE MAD LAD out there who DID learn the entire piece and performed it for their senior-year-of-high-school recital
the entire comment section there is incredibly heartwarming. here is an excerpt:
