Repost @mncause4paws Each New Day is a Celebration of Light and Life for Buddy💗 Buddy's days at Mississippi State are much different now. His eyes are no longer covered with heavy bandages. He can see and he is loving every minute of his new life. Buddy's whole personality has changed since seeing the light of day. He is happy and playful and walking the halls of the hospital with a great big ball in his mouth. He loves balls. He carries them around so everyone can see them😁 He has been feeling so well, we gave the approval to go ahead with his neuter surgery.😕 He came it thru with flying colors. And we made the decision to go ahead and start the protocol for his heartworm treatment. Buddy will be completing his heartworm treatment while under the care of Dr. Swanson. We want everything to be on go when he is ready to leave Mississippi State. We want him to be strong and healthy for his future family and we are doing everything we can to make that happen. As far as Buddy's eyes, his doctors felt it was best, to give his eyes a rest for awhile. More time to heal before any more procedures are done on his eyelids. They are still a work in progress but we will get there. Dr. Swanson isn't going to settle for less. I have to say thank you again to the thousands and thousands of people that have prayed for Buddy. Repost @mncause4paws 💗Out of the Darkness, Into the Light💗 Close your eyes and imagine today thru the eyes of this sweet yellow lab. Buddy's last real memory of vision was in the final horrific moments just before his face was set on fire by a child. In the blink of an eye, his whole life changed. Because of the severity of his injuries, Buddy has spent the last 3 and a half months in total darkness due to the bandages to protect his wounds. It has been a very big day for Buddy and his extraordinary caregivers at Mississippi State College of Veterinary Medicine. For the first time, Buddy's bandages were changed without him being heavily sedated. His eyes were actually open and he was very aware. This photo captures that very moment for all of Buddy's Prayers Warriors and for all our supporters that donated so generously to his care. It was important to me that our Tunica Humane Society family be the first to see Buddy's miraculous healing. If you had seen what I have seen over the last few months, crying myself to sleep many nights, you would truly understand how far Buddy has come in his journey back to life. How beautiful he looks today. In answer to your thousands and thousands of prayers, YES, Buddy can still see. As Dr. Swanson described to me the moment Buddy gazed into her eyes for the first time, the moment he immediately jumped up on his caregivers to thank them for saving him... I was completely overcome with emotion and gratitude for all that was done to save him from the horrible abuse he endured. Buddy still needs some work on his eyelids, so that they blink properly and will better protect his eyes. And he is still healing in many ways. He will continue to stay at Mississippi State under Dr. Swanson's care until we are comfortable bringing him back to the Tunica Humane Society. But today was a huge turning point for this precious yellow lab. He can see again and his heart is happy... Repost @mncause4paws ***WARNING GRAPHIC***Our Prime Purpose in This Life is to Help And If You Cannot Help Them, At Least Don't Hurt Them😔 At the very least, I hope there is a lesson in this horrible story. This situation has left us speechless today. From the staff at Horn Lake Animal Shelter to the staff at Stateline Clinic to all of us at the Tunica Humane Society. All of our hearts are broken for this dog tonight. We have to ask ourselves, how could anyone allow this to happen to an innocent animal. How could anyone look the other way when clearly, this poor little dog has been suffering in unbearable pain. Nothing can excuse this. Nothing can make this right. Today this little yorkie was dropped off at the Horn Lake Animal Shelter. Her condition had declined to the point it was life-threatening. Her story starts sadly, 3 weeks ago, she was hit by a car and suffered a broken leg. Instead of seeking professional care for their dog at the time she was injured, they chose to cover her wounds and hope for the best. In doing so, they caused her tremendous suffering and pain. In doing so, they almost cost her life. When the makeshift cast was cut away, only the exposed bones remained. All of the flesh on the leg had rotted away. Her tiny paw fell off in our vet's hand😢 For 3 weeks, this dog endured unfathomable pain but somehow she held on.... She held on for help and by the Grace of God, she found her way, to Pat Hissong at the Horn Lake Shelter and in turn, she landed in the loving arms of the Tunica Humane Society where we will provide her every need. Late this afternoon, her leg was amputated. We are prayerful she will make a full recovery. I am asking for your prayers too. Her name is Jazzy. She has to be a fighter to have endured what she has been through. I find great comfort in that. Our battle is already half won....Please help if you can. Link in my bio under Tunica County HS.
