Love Yet Hate

So great are these feelings of hate. Crying, pounding, searing through my veins, It seems only love can sate.

The words I’m ready to say come late. I’m through thinking about results and gain. It seems only love can sate.

  The poem is a villanelle I wrote two years ago for school. My poems were all Hetalia themed. This one was my favorite.

So, decided to use my 750 to write fanfiction cause I had an idea in my head and couldn't get it out.

However, today is different. When Sadik approaches the glass, the creature doesn't pull away. Instead, he stares at Sadik through the glass, and when Sadik places his palm against the smooth, cool surface. The creature responds by placing his palm back against it, a thin layer flesh linking his digits. Sadik tilts his head, curious at the change, but welcoming.

The creature's eyes are staring at him with equal curiosity. Sadik's eyes meet his, and it feels as though the Turk will never look away, but after a long while Sadik takes time to admire the rest of the creature. His upper body is distinctly human, a chiseled chest and two tan arms, with brunette locks that hit his bare shoulders. The creature is thin, but not weak. There is one odd feature, two slits that run on each side of the creatures neck, flexing open and shut with a few bubbles escaping every few seconds.

While is upper body is beautiful, it's his lower body that is far more interesting. Beginning at his hips, beautiful blue and green scales flows down his body, ending in a soft, nearly translucent piece of flesh. The tail swishes back and forth, keeping the creature hovering in the water in front of Sadik. Sadik drops his palm, and the creature mimics his action. Hoping to continue the pattern, Sadik walked slowly toward the stairs that ran beside the tank. The creature followed beside the man, tucking his arms at his side and propelling himself forward with quick jerks of his tail. However, when Sadik reached the top, the creature quickly ducked back down into the deep part of the tank, staring up at the human outside the water.

Sadik looked down, staring at the creature before slipping off his shoes and pulling off his shirt. His pants followed before the Turk approached the tank. There was a section of it which appeared to be more of a pool than a tank. It was shallower, only going down about six feet before it dropped off into the much deeper and larger tank. Sadik stepped down into this section, wading out until he was standing comfortably in four feet of water.

He waited for what felt like ages before he saw the glint of emerald from beneath the water's surface. He remained frozen, keeping a close eye on the creature, who he knew was strong enough to easily pull him down into the deep water, where he'd either drown or be crushed by the pressure. The creature slowly approached him, watching Sadik just as cautiously as Sadik was watching him.

"Come here," Sadik said, keeping his voice smooth and encouraging. He moved his hand slightly, beckoning the creature toward him. It took a long moment before the creature surfaced, keeping his head just barely above the water's surface, ready to flee at a moment's notice.

"Don't worry, I won't hurt you," Sadik said, and the creature tilted his head in response, "Do you understand me?" He asked, but received now answer from the creature. He paused, shifting his jaw back and forth, "Do you speak?" He asked, and the creature opened his mouth, although no sound came out.

Sadik repeated the question, "Do you speak?"

"D...d...do..." The creature seemed to choke the word out, his voice raspy, and it seemed likely that he'd never spoken before, "Do...y...y...yo...you," he gulped, furrowing his eye brows, "S...sp...sp...spea....speak?"

Sadik's eyes widened before a grin manifested on his face, "Yes, yes, that's good," he praised, smile widening, "Just like that." He paused in thought. He raised his hand and patted his chest, "Sadik." He followed the word by gesturing at the creature, who flinched a bit at the sudden movement. He cocked his head, and Sadik repeated his name and the gestures. At that moment the creature seemed to catch on. He reached in Sadik's direction, "S...Sa...di...dik...Sadik," he said.

"Sadik," the Turk nodded, gesturing at the creature again. It blinked in response, holding his webbed palm against his chest, "...H..." he licked his lips, "Her...Hera...cl...cles...Hera...cles...Heracles," he finally managed.

"Heracles," Sadik repeated with a smile, "...Heracles."
