Random observation as someone getting into community organizing; I feel like half the reason these orgs fall apart is because the people involved have never worked in customer service. Like, having waited and hosted in restaurants and bars and done housekeeping in hospitals, I'm well prepared to mentally, emotionally, and practically deal with people who are being difficult, whereas other folk coming from non-customer service backgrounds seem to lose it at the smallest contradiction.

Anyway, I have thus drawn the conclusion that the post-revolutionary leader in Canada is likely to be a Starbucks barista, or any other job in which people have to deal with issues and complaints, since seemingly nobody else has the emotional maturity to handle so much as a correction, let alone a rejection.
