Turkey Babys
Poults galore at the Christensen turkey breeding facility in Edina in 1946. Here, Mrs. Christensen demonstrates use of the turkey incubator. Eggs are moved every few hours to mimic the movement of eggs in a hen's nest. Mr. C.J. Christensen unveils newly hatched turkey chicks. They are then put into boxes for delivery to farms (like perhaps this one) where they will be raised to adulthood. Thousands of poults were bred each year at the Christensen facility.
